Prob more like 1/2" or a metric equivalent at the shackle side of leaf springs. The strong brake hose will hold it all together, don't worry.

And I am glad that I have never been stuck in a friends woods, everybody will be telling him to kill me, blow me up, or destroy my transportation that gets me to work so that I can contribute to society. Yeah, you're right, I wouldn't have been trespassing.
Anybword from the friend, yet? Any attempt to get his truck? Has he logged in to INGO? Is his wife deperately looking for him? Truck reported stolen? So many questions. I do not blame you for not sharing pics or names.

A friend would called first... this guy may have been up to other no good acts...

have you called the cops to make sure they have not arrested him?

Did you look under the truck to see if you can see body parts?

A farmer just down the road was killed when his tractor rolled over him and the spinning wheel torn him apart when it got stuck in the mud?

In a day or two, your dogs will bring back some interesting meat, if he ran into trouble.

I can't tell enough stories of what my dogs bring back to me from the woods.......

Do you have caves at your place?

sounds like time for an INGO search and shoot !

halfmileharry does. Have you not been paying attention?

    I've been paying attention.
All this old fart can say is......You're a bunch of amateurs.
No one's mentioned any clandestine ops on how to blow up a fuel tank when the key is hit or any other very effective methods of eleminating ones nemesis.
Yea, I'm pis..d off about anyone coming out without permission.
I'm not going to mess with someone's vehicle like a teen girl that just caught her boyfriend with her best friend. That was awkward I'm here to tell you. Mom's station wagon and dad made me pay for the key job after all the facts came to the surface.
On the serious side, I put on my waders and went to his truck to get the registration so I can run him down.
His phone was laying on the seat and I have his address now.
I'm headed that way in a few minutes after the biscuits and gravy find their resting spot and the Maxwell House revives my spirits (pun on the evening's brandy consumption)
The phone on the seat adds some info I didn't have initially.
Updates coming as I figure it all out.
Oh, and thanks for all the suggestions and info about Ping Pong balls.
Personally, I think a good swift kick to the nuts works well too.
Then again..this is a gun forum and I'd better kick him from behind to be safe.

You could show up at his house driving his/YOUR new truck! Do a few donuts in his front yard! Park it in his swimming pool and walk away! No personal injury and you were just returning lost property because you're such a good friend! Seriously, good luck and be careful.

At least you know why he didn't answer his phone. One small piece of the puzzle!
Still, no excuse for not coming to you face to face! Over 24 hours now, NO EXCUSE!!!
I'd love to be there to see/hear the confrontation!

Any good pics on his cell phone...LOL :):

As mentioned, I'm sure there are plenty of us on the boards who would be willing to help out if that's what it would take to show that we are mostly a group of great guys and gals. :twocents:

The new location has much better access and seems to be getting
more business but the downtown shop had more style.
    (dirt, atmosphere, what-have-you)
Almost like you could taste the age or something. Or it could be just in my head.

You can get Lord Johns down at the Handlebar.
Yogi's also sells them or their equivalent.
They have an unfriendly competition going back and forth.
Handlebar claiming they have the original..... :dunno:

IIRC Handlebar actually purchased the Lord Johns recipe and name.
