A few years ago I dealt with some yellow jackets in the ground. The first dose of spray didn't do it. A few days later I emptied the can at night and then covered the entrance with dirt and packed it down. The next morning I found the nest had been dug up by some animal and found pieces of the nest all over. Didn't find a single yellow jacket. The nest was much bigger than I thought it was going to be.

Like LE said, get the powder and puff it in there good. Sprays aren't very effective as they don't get down in the nest well.

If you want to be totally environmentally unfriendly, a quart or two of used motor oil poured down the hole at night will do the job as well.

Skunks and raccoons dig up the nest if they can find it. Your activity tipped them off.

Placed 1st out of 12 participants at today's NRL22 match. Surprisingly, I did fairly well on the standing unsupported stage. Made a solid improvement on my ladder game and continued to kill the prone stages. Still need to work on shooting from the top of a sawhorse, that was my weakness today. Got home before the heat really set in and relaxing in the A/C all afternoon.

Thanks to BCM and the CZickos recommendations, the rifle did great. It doesn't like light loads. Turned up the powder, groups tightened and gun functioned flawlessly. I was aiming at the "9". Went counter-clockwise as powder went up. The group on the left is the best at a little over an inch. This is 50 yards, I'll fine tune my loads and open it up to 100 yards.

The Shadow that the Wizard tuned ran like a sewing machine. Ignited a mixture of primers, and left a nice ragged hole. Didn't get it's target, though.
