We'll see 2 days left on the auction. I may of also convinced her on a Model 64 DAO for 219 or 229 if the bid doesn't take. I'll just send
her to key west next year for a week.

Ended up winning the 457 w/ 2 mags for $320.99, so 30 for shipping and 10 for transfer fee and usps fee comes to roughly $363.

Picked up my last one for a while, buying a new property has put a kibosh on the gun funds for a bit. 4566TSW that I basically stole, came with 3 mags.

Looks nice. Yeah it looks like I may be done with gun stuff for a while too. I have enough bullets to keep me going till the end of the
year. Not because of an angry wife but looking to sock some extra money towards the motorcycle to pay it off even sooner than NOV and start paying down our cars even more. I figure if I can afford to wait on 3rd gens for 3 yrs (which won't happen) we would only be down to a mortgage.

Yeah but $350-$450 a pop adds up fast especially if it can pay off a loan faster. It seems the market on gb for 3rd gens is shrinking a bit. Even the once numerous 5906 ads have dropped to a dozen or so guns for sale. I'd rather try to pay off now than wait and pay
    more longer.

Oh no doubt, and I have some that I'd have no problem parting with given the need for cash. But that only goes so far, and having space to put them all would be nice.

I'm just giving you a hard time. Always pay off debt. ALWAYS!

Yea; I have a serious space problem right now. Keep hesitating on getting another safe...3906/4013/1066 or 76 and then I am done with purchasing third gens.

I seem to see alot of no sales on GB in 3rd gens. Pre-lock SW revolvers are red hot right now. I've been looking for a 686-4 4" and they have all sold north of $1000.

Yeah I'm almost to the point where the metal storage cabinet needs to be upgraded to something heavier and with thicker steel as
well as plenty of room. I need to start shopping around for firearms insurance in case of theft or fire. I'm way over the 2500 you get
for being a life nra member.

    Yeah I know you're pulling my chain. I need a 4006,cs9 or 45 and 6906 (won't even attempt a 10xx series) to complete my basic 3rd
gen collection. It would be nice to collect the 04's and 46/43's, but that will take time and money. Its a huge rabbit hole once you stray from the 06's and 04's.

Get a 4006 and a 6906. Skip the CS' and put that cash towards a 1006. :rockwoot:

Who knows depending on what this 457 looks like in person it may go up for trade for a 6906 in similar condition. Though if S&W can
give me a total number produced and if less then 5000 I would keep. I had a really nice 6906 with night sights that I foolishly traded,
though I think if its the right trade lineage then I ended up with the excellent condition late 70's yugo M59/66 SKS worth a bit more. If I did find a 10xx series pistol it would def be in the safe along with any 4006 as I don't plan on buying another press just for 40/10mm.

What I really need to do is get my butt in gear and finish the 5906/469 frankengun. I decided to use the single sided safety from the 915 in the 469. I have started to polish the metal to metal points on the frame just need to get back to it this weekend and get everything set up for refinishing the slide and reassembling parts.

What do you think about that SKS on the SW forum for $400 shipped? I remember when $100 was high! I'd rather have a Russian SKS but prices....

I recall seeing Chinese sks's going for 325-400 on gb a few months back and after looking at the pics I would pull the trigger on that. If you are a C&R it saves you a transfer fee.

I feel like a lot of people think that 3rd gens are worth more than they are, with crazy high starting or reserve prices on GB. I say I'm done buying right now, but if a 1046 came along, well, yeah, I'd be a buyer.
