i think hate crime legislation should be erased anyway. Just tired of all the assaults that Don't get tagged hate crime and the media doesn't suggest that it should be when it's a white person assaulted

Exactly. I think no crime should have a special classification as "hate crime". For the ones that matter, hate is implied by the crime anyway. Murder. Vandalism. Etc.

The legal concept of hate crimes is stupid.

I think murderers and seriously violent criminals should all swing. "Long drop, short rope" makes hate crime enhancements moot. I don't know if this is true or not, but I always figured that most of the supporters of hate crime enhancements are the same folks who are against the death penalty. It makes me wonder.
