The only reason I can think of that might make it cheaper is that it doesn't appear to have the trigger upgrade.
It's becoming more prevalent. I've talked to a couple trainers and read several articles lately extolling the virtues of using an optic on a carry weapon.
As optics become more rugged, dependable and less power hungry, I think this will be the wave of the future. Back up sights will always be necessary. The military has turned to electronic optics and it was a good move for them.
Yeah but the exact same gun except with the monotone finish is like $200 higher.
I've never shot a pistol with an optic but I'm thinking with 50+ year old eyes, this might be a good thin, even for carry.

I can't remember what holster maker I was looking at the other day, but they had holsters designed for the P320c with an optic. Hmmm....

I wasn't overly impressed with the wife's P320c, but of course it hasn't been in for the trigger replacement yet. Now that I have my G23 back and working reliably, with an awesome CharlieCo trigger job, I may have to buy a second one and have the slide milled for an optic. Hmmmm....
Is a rear site worth ~$200?

In the case of the battery dying on your red dot, I'm thinking having a rear site would be invaluable, but I don't really know. Looking at the picture you linked to, can you even use the rear sites? They don't look tall enough...
