I am by no means an expert on the LS platform. However as a Ford man with experience running 6"rods in a 9.2 deck block, I would have to bet it will live turning some serious RPMs. Years ago when we ran roundy round we (NASCAR did too) ran a 351c with small journal 6" GM rods. It was super common to turn those beasts 8k rpm.
If I was concerned too much about the load on the side of the piston I would get coated pistons. That would help reduce the friction and reduce wear. Just my .02. But again I am not an expert on the LS platform

I turned my 388 stroker with 6" rods 7600 all the time. That was about the end of the cam. there was more. It just stopped pulling about there.

There is a nice 55 chevy gasser with a 383 & 4spd in Elizabethtown Ky. Body work is done and it's primered and ready for paint...they only want like 27k for it. Thought of CM when I saw it

may have found the core for rebuilding for free-fitty. Just gotta drive to Cleveland.

Selling the spare car. Rio is officially up for sale. Sad, because even though it's a soul stealing econobox the suspension is like a gokart.

Use what is available to fund what you desire. Done this so many times.

I hear you man. Oh what I would build if money wasn't an obstacle.
I only have 3 builds I want to still do.

Duramax/Allison 91 4wd burb kitted out for cross country shenanigans.
    89 Caprice Sedan, LS9/T-56 uber-suspension, 4 recaros and caged.
2010 Rio, with a 2.4/6-spd out of a Forte with LSD and suspension, gutted. 170whp unstressed and 2300lbs for One Lap.

The new show on History called Truck Night in America is pretty freakin' cool. Aaron from Gas Monkey new show seems pretty decent too.
