Back-half car? Or stock style?
Well if I hadn’t have bought a gasser project, I could be sitting in another dream of mine... Off-road cutlass....

Oh it wouldn’t need to be anywhere near perfect for an off roader. Rip off anything that it doesn’t need to drive. Go down to the hood and see about a lift. All terrains. Small block. Th400. Dunzo! You being a body guy I can see this. But me, I hate body work.

One of my favorites.James Garner's off road Cutlass.
One of my favorites.
I am narrowing the rear rails and adding appropriate bracing. I want at least 10" wheels under it and 12" if I can find the room. I have yet to actually put a tape measure on it.
Yeah I’m gonna struggle to fit any kind of tire under mine.
If you can get an 8" rally wheel under it you can get a fair tire in there. One that will hold your car as we intend to build it.
I’ve seen the process of checking backspacing, never done it though
I think like a 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson ET street would be perfect

Not ran the radials but I hear they are pretty good.
Just remember with a radial, the idea is to dead hook it and pour on the power early. Don't try to spin the tire for wheel speed like a slick or it will smoke the tires and will not fully recover.
Hey mouse, if that vert ends up not working for you.... I’ve got a ‘57 post car I’d trade you.
