I like the one used to start the thread .41 MAG. In my opinion it is the optimal magnum cartridge in terms of performance and efficiency. I also like the .357 MAX.

The .45 GAP is most certainly on its last legs. An answer to no question.
.357Sig. Truly a niche caliber that will never become more popular.
One of my favorites, the .38 Super, is not going away but it's not going to become more popular.
.38 S&W. .455 Webley. Another of my favorites: the .45 Win Mag.

.35 Wheelen, I don't think there's any more rifles chambered in it now, I'm sure CZ would do a custom for someone though.

The 358 Win and the 356 Win have pretty much croaked, but they never caught on.

Scemes like the .30-30 is getting harder to find, same way with the .44-40.

As stated before, the .41 mag is a pain. But good thing I reload :D

The .45 GAP was pointless to begin with, and I've seen 2 boxes of it in the past 6 months.

The .50 GI is also pretty hard to find, but that could always make a comeback.

The .222 Rem has pretty much croaked.

6mm still has die hard fans, but ammo and new rifles chambered in it are few and far between.

The .30 TC is a great round, but most get the .308 Win instead.

There's many more that I'm forgetting at the moment.

After reading through this thread, the one that had come to mind before I started reading was the .45 GAP. What need was it the answer for?

Glock's solution to a problem that never existed was the .45 GAP. Pretty much they could use the smaller 9mm frame and shoot a .45 projectile, but it's not like a .45acp is a long cartrige with a massive frame.

The .45 GAP is like using small pistol primers in a .45 acp. Why?

Pretty much any Weatherby caliber. They're starting out price on almost every caliber is $70 for a box of 20, and the ballistics aren't that good for the massive size of them. Plus the accuracy issues of freebore rifles, Weatherby has been on their last leg for the rifles for a long time, probably in a couple years they'll only be making shotguns.
