    Well we gotta use our money for Ukraine and all the illegals first.

    This is probably going to sound like a hot take, but honestly, I'd like to see disaster relief and insurance monies spent in TN/NC first, and then help folks in FLA if there's anything left. When you live on the gulf or atlantic coasts, you (presumably) know the risk of living in the path of these storms. People in the mountains probably never imagined they were susceptible to something like this.

    This summer I hiked through some of the now devastated inland mountain areas I am seeing photos of. As I hiked through hundreds of miles of trail I did not see that many areas where I thought “this area is just waiting to be flooded if there is a heavy rain.”

    It’s not like the coastal morons that always “rebuild” knowing it is going to be destroyed again in the next decade. Kind of like walking through the hood after midnight wearing gold jewelry and money hanging out of your pocket then being shocked when you get robbed.
