Weird thing this morning. House felt a little cold this morning. Thermostat was at 71 and temp was only at 66, furnace was not running. Went to furnace, pulled cover off, looked at some stuff (99% of the stuff I have no clue what it is). Flipped switch on wall to off and then back on. Went back to thermostat, bumped it to 72. Furnace kicked on about 30 seconds later. Hmmm. Bad thermostat? It's a fancy Nest (Google?) brand. Furnace is a 19yr old Bryant, so I'm nervous.
Understood. It sounds like flipping the switch off and then back on did the trick. Furnace came on like normal and ran until house got back up to temp. I will continue to monitor. Wife has money back for furnace/AC combo and we'll have tax money next month. I always have stuff I could quickly sell if need be. Appreciate the steps and info.-OK here is the steps.
-Leave the stat alone.
-Go to furnace. Power off. Count to 10. Power on.
-Observe.
-If burner lites and runs for a few seconds then shuts down the flame rod is dirty and needs to be cleaned properly.
-After doing this repeat the step above.
-If it fires/runs then good to go.
-If not the board is failing or a related issue.
-Regardless you are at the point of no return with this unit. Start putting money back to replace it.
-When you do this replace the entire system so you have a matching Furnace/AC combo. That is the only way. The new systems are unique.
Call my cell if you need more than this.

It’s my Friday!
Gotcha. I now know the part you are talking about. I will gladly clean my rod tonight, hopefully that's all it takes to keep the flame going.OK but still, this need to be addressed and I have even money it is the flame rod. You tube has videos on this. Easy peasy.
I don’t think you are picking up what the Mouse is putting out, but it sounds like you have a fun evening planned.Gotcha. I now know the part you are talking about. I will gladly clean my rod tonight, hopefully that's all it takes to keep the flame going.
