It was thumper but fun. Lightweight, straight stock, fun with 500gr.

I had two 45/70's and wanted something else at the time.

That is an issue I need to address. The only lever gun in the house is a Henry .22lr that’s fun to plink with but I need something with a little more spice.

Prolly a 45-70 -- I've had my heart set on one for months.

I like my Marlin 1894. I have one with an octagon barrel. Did you shoot it at the SGE or the super secret birthday GE? I remember Turbo and Carlos shooting it.

I didn’t. I really need to explore the gun tables better at the *GE’s. I always come away realizing that I missed shooting stuff I want to shoot.

I will bring a table full of lever guns to the next one if people will shoot them. I always bring a couple, but even when I hand them to people they rarely get shot.

I’ve never shot one. It’s not been a round that’s ever been on the radar but my curiosity is now piqued.

It’s basically a 30-30, that has a diameter of .32.

I’m now a big fan of MM’s add-a-box campaign for reasonable delivery. The best solutions are often the most simple. Brilliant idea MM.

I’m finding myself with a hankering for a PCR tonight. Not going to do anything in that direction for a while but if it’s not just the bourbon talking, I might do that for my late summer project.
