Why don't we get the government to fund a crying room for the babies who get their feelings hurt in the political area?

I hardly ever venture into the political section and this isnt about anyone getting their feelings hurt. The point of this post is that honestly I feel it brings the whole forum and the look of us gun owners down as a whole. The entire thing is filled with with people fighting, calling each other names, and degrading each other and their views. If people were grown up enough to have civil conversations it would be ok but it has been proven over and over again that some members cant. No wonder antis have this horrible view of us we can't even get along between ourselves. I am just saying it gives all of us all a bad look.

OK but I think its actually very civil and shows that gun owners can honestly and openly discuss a variety of touchy issues without getting butthurt. If anything it shows gun owners in a great light as honest, hardworking, logical and moral. Clearly you are mistaken in what you believe.

That is the problem it has been shown that people cant just discuss a topic, they get pissed because not everyone sees their view and thats when they start degrading each other and calling each other names.

Just like you have shown above. Im wrong because I don't see something how you do. We may not take it personally but others show over and over again they do and blow up.

Free speech is a big part of what we are here on INGO as well as freedom to bear arms. We always say that our right to bear arms should not be infringed on because someone is afraid or offended by our firearms. We should not be offended when people exercise their freedom of speech whether we are offended or offensive.

That is only your opinion. I see it differently.

As I said, I think it shows we are actually very civil. It seems to show most of us are capable of discussing things as adults without degrading each other. It shows us in a good light.

    I agree.
I have posted many times in the political forum, and I never been shot by an angry fellow INGO member who had a different opinion.
Even when we dont agree things can stay polite.

Plus I think the politics is related to guns since it's a right that we can lose depending who's in office.
So we should be able to talk about that, we do and it stays in the politics section so if you are not interested in politics (you should if you care about your rights) then you are free to not look into that section of INGO.
Plenty of other topics left for you.

People get surprised by the politics forum. Outsiders might think that all members fall into a narrow political/philosophical range.

What really got me hooked on INGO was a thread in the politics forum regarding a lesbian high school student and a prom. I expected to see a narrow set of opinions on the issue, but instead found a wide variety of opinions hotly debated.

I think that it is good for our community to realize that we are not all of the same opinion and it does us good to debate and argue as it helps reveal our weaknesses and sharpen our points.

Besides, do you really want me and Rambone trolling the survival forum?

I voted to keep it. (not that the Owner of the Forum would feel obligated to listen)

    I enjoy it.

The threads started are generally backed up with a link, facts or the source.
I have grown to have little faith in the traditional media except for
High School Football scores and Garage Sales.

Not that I believe everything on the net but at least on here I can
check the source and form my own opinion.

I voted to keep it. I feel that in order for us to truthfully practice our Constitutional freedoms we need to be able to speak freely what is on our mind. Politics have a huge impact on our everyday lives, and as firearms owners we NEED TO PAY ATTENTION to what is going on around us. Do keep in mind though, that even though we may share our love of all things that go BOOM...we do not all share the same view on politics. This has been a very hard lesson for me to learn as I live with a die hard liberal that thinks "socialism is a good thing"! We need to be respectful of each others views and opinions and not get bent out of shape when someone feels/says something we do not like. I agree with what a few of you have said... if you do not like what is said, stay out. In the greater scheme of things we all want the same thing: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!
