jedi survived driving thru the super cell.
Left longhorn steakhouse in schereville as the sirens were going off and the sky was dark with swirls in it. Manager did not want to let us leave.

Paid and left anyways and headed into the storm on the way to highland. What an amazing experience to see the lighting in the distance, the swirls overhead, the wind being calm yet every now and then one could feel it.
We watched the storm skirt east of us. It was interesting to see the low clouds moving N-NE while the body of the storm was moving SE. The distant thunder was non stop with a continuous low rumble.

And by the way, how was dinner? We haven't been to the new Longhorn yet.

Dinner was ok (small o, small l)
It was a party of 12. No reservations allowed.

50min wait not because they had no space but because they have limited staff.

Also it was two tables not together but close. One for 8 another for 4 (size of table for 8) since parties can not be bigger than 8 per covid.

We had 2 servers and they were good.
The food was just ok. Jedi has eaten at the one by Southlake mall as well as locations in IL where the food was better. Hotter, more appealing.

Granted never with a party of 12.
Party of 3 and parties of 6 at most.

Maybe this one is still learning how to prep, cook the food. :dunno:

Jedi will give them another shot later this year maybe. It's not a place on the top of jedi list. It was for a birthday dinner.

    1. Pinkdragon's freezer was south of us30

    2. Pinkdragon's freezer had girl cooties

And 3 but most importantly pinkdragon did not want the four $100 best buy cards jedi had. She wanted that worthless green paper with the dead presidents on it. Jedi got these gift cards as a gift last year and did not have that worthless green paper.

I had $80+ in best buy bucks after buying a t.v.. I went in later for a surge protector and found out I had a week to use them up, and if I used them for the surge protector the rest would be gone. Walked around for 20 mins trying to find something. Found I still hate that place. Took the whole box of slim jims up to register and told her to stop me when I hit the $80+ dollar, before tax, amount. Still have a few in the truck, and daughter found a couple stashed somewhere I forget about them the other day....

I like the Long Horn in Portage better than the one in Hobart / Merrillville.
