If you like gyros try PJs on Broadway in Merrillville. Just north of 61st, on the north side of Andrean High School.

My wife loves their lemon rice soup also.

    WORST. FRIES. EVER!
    I'm sure I've had a gyro there but i don't remember

I can't disagree with you on the fries. On many of the combos you can get soup instead.

I usually order a gyro sandwich, everything in the side and an extra pita. Easily makes two.

I tried to tell them their fryer temp was wrong and got the evil eye. When I do get fries I always ask that they make them crispy, still not great but better.

You can get good fries at Five Guys.

Try the Steelworker sandwich at Lincoln's in Crown Point.

I like Bombers on Ridge Rd. in Munster. They used to have a pulled rib meat platter special on Fridays, haven't been there in Friday in a while.

For those of you who venture into Chicago, try the El Cubano sandwich at Na Na's at 3267 S. Halsted.

Our favorite restaurant in Chicago is Catch 35 best Chicago seafood restaurants + Naperville

They have a filet that melts in your mouth.

Has anyone been to the Square Roots restaurant in Crown Point?
Yep, been a couple times now, both were excellent. We tried a couple months ago and waited 15 minutes without being so much as acknowledged after they seated us so we left, they seem to have service sorted out now though. Good food, had a doomburger and a Hoosier cheesesteak, both were great. T-star had a pork shank that was fantastic as well
