My stone just sits in the oven always. I made another pizza (same way), but it was larger than the stone - got a bit smoky in the kitchen.Or a cast iron pan if you don’t want something as limited to one use as a pizza stone. But then you probably have to make smaller pizzas.
Serious Eats has a good recipe for pizza made specifically in a cast iron pan.
PS - I've actually had to install a button to disable the kitchen smoke detector because it's connected to a buzzer and strobe light OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. It's embarrassing to walk outside and yell, "It's OK! I'm just making cajun catfish!"
