Armed Portland Woman Fends Off Flasher High on Crystal Meth

The headline says "Flasher". He was charged with sodomy, attempted sex abuse, burglary, and theft. That's a bit more serious than being a "flasher." Also, "fends off." She chased him out of her apartment with a handgun after he forced his way in, dropped his pants, and demanded a "sex act."

Woman had a license to carry, and a handgun to go with it.

Athens landlord holds burglar suspect at gunpoint

    Athens Texas, not Athens Georgia.
…[the homeowner] saw the suspect, identified as Tommy Kirk, 55 of Malakoff, loading an air compressor and hose from the house into the bed of a pickup truck. [Sheriff Botie] Hillhouse said the homeowner then used his vehicle to block Kirk’s escape route and held him at gunpoint while he called 911.

    Tommy is now charged with

    #1 NO SEATBELT (DRIVER)
#2 VIOLATE PROMISE TO APPEAR (UNIFORM ACT)
    #3 BURGLARY OF HABITATION
    #4 WRONG FICT/ALTERED/OBSCURED VEH REGISTRATION

I ran Tommy's name through "Texas.Arrests.Org" and turns out this is not his first rodeo, nor even his second or third. I wonder if the homeowner knew this.

Man shoots gun at attackers after getting stabbed in Jacksonville bank parking lot - News - The Florida Times-Union - Jacksonville, FL

Man pulled into a parking lot at a bank. Two other men approached him and one stabbed him several times in the back. The first man came up with a gun from some place and fired several shots. The two attackers fled, no evidence they were hit. Wounded man said he did not know the men, but the incident might have resulted from something that happened on the highway.

Hero: Israeli Stabbed 4 Times, Manages To Chase and Shoot Terrorist
    Also: https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Ari-Fuld-prominent-Israel-advocate-killed-in-terror-attack-567314

Israeli stabbed four times in back by Palestinian. Israeli chased attacker over a fence and along with another armed civilian shot the attacker to death. Israeli subsequently died of his wounds. The Israeli, US-born Ari Fuld, was a former IDF paratrooper and and a pro-IDF activist of some sort. Neither of the articles mention it, but makes me wonder if it was a targeted attack instead of a random terror stabbing.
To the extent that this was a targeted attack it was: "here's a Jew!" Having been a paratrooper or being an outspoken patriot aren't that unusual. If he was a "high value target" the attack would have been organized by the PA or hamas and they would have had guns. Full-auto at that. Using a knife is the mark of a "lone wolf"

Dude, 37, acting all kind of weird at a 7-11 first thing in the morning. Police come looking for him and he runs across street and starts beating a 24 yo female Starbucks employee with his fists, a metal basket, and his feet.
Fellow Starbucks employees freeze and flee.
Regular customer, late 60s-early 70s, intervenes. Crazy dude goes for him and licensed-to-carry-gramps shoots Dude in the chest. Dude runs outside and right into the police, who have to tase him to put him down.
Dude taken to hospital in critical condition, but will make it. Cops interview "very cooperative" gramps, witnesses. DA to make decision on who gets charged with what.

    Key quotes:
...and he continued hitting her. Hamilton’s co-workers, however, remained frozen, unsure what to do, she said.

Hamilton crumpled, and the man continued kicking her in the back. The only thought left in her mind: "I don't want to die this way."

The next thing Hamilton knew, the man had stopped beating her and gone back around the counter.

Soon after, she heard a gunshot.

“My honest thought? I just hoped that he was dead,” she said.

Unified Police Lt. Ken Hansen confirmed later that the attacker was shot by a man in his late 60s who saw what was happening while visiting the shop for his morning coffee. The customer drew the man’s attention, and the attacker began to approach him.

As he came closer, the customer pulled out a gun and shot the attacker once in the chest, Hansen said. The man then stumbled out of the store.

    Also:

In 2013, Starbucks made a request that customers not bring firearms into its stores or outdoor eating areas, but the company specified that it was a request and not an outright ban.

    This seems strange:

    https://www.victoriaadvocate.com/co...cle_def55934-d637-11e8-9546-637075a1ed02.html

Boyfriend goes to retrieve girlfriend from Gf’s sister’s house. There’s apparently bad blood between BF and sister’s husband, or at least got into argument.

Sister’s husband uses AR15 and .40 cal handgun to fire on BF 27 times while BF is in his pickup, hitting truck 13 times, BF not hit. BF has bolt action .22 rifle with a SINGLE round of Ammo. BF fires his one shot and kills husband.

Bonus: this was on Bootlegger Road (DeWitt County Texas).

    Now for the strange:

BF arrested for murder and jailed 55 days on $500,000 bond.

DA took charges for murder and manslaughter to grand jury, GJ no billed.

DA’s comments to press seem to indicate he thinks it was self defense on part of BF.

I'd also like to state, that's why you practice

    27 shots
    13 hits, on the truck.
    Zero hits on the person.

    vs

    1 shot with a .22... hit.
