As I have posted before. Members have in the past tried to "Troll" for awesome old guns at these events and ended up in cuffs while LEO ran their info. These are not Flea markets for enthusiasts. LEO is putting this on and anyone thinking there are deals to be had will be surprised when they try and seek them out.
I am sure they are not going to let 1 individual take all the money.

This one is a private buyback (which will be located at the local PD but not conducted by them).

Also, if I'm only carrying a rifle that day, there won't be any valid reason to identify me. ;)

I'm trying to think of a reason why any semi-reasonable gun owner would want to get anywhere near this dog and pony show. Can't come up with anything beyond "hold my beer and watch this". But then............ P.T. Barnum.

If I remember right, only one INGO member was detained. And it was by an officer that didn't believe you could buy a gun, person to person.

The member was warned repeatedly that this would happen. And it did. If I posted Members my bad but it still happened and he was pissed regardless. But he was warned and did it any way. That is all I am saying. Choose your poison.
And as this is going to happen at the police station even more reason to avoid "Shopping" as they will not take kindly to folks interfering with this idiocy.

Is it legal....yes it is. Will it end well for you....most likely not.

Do as you will. Just post pics when detained.

Why are the police involved again? Where does this fit in their job description?

It's political posturing and grandstanding and picking a side against a lawful activity.
They are injecting themselves into what should be a neutral stance. Equal protection under the law and all of that BS.

    They're provide a [STRIKE]"safe space"[/STRIKE] secure location to conduct a P2P sale.

IMHO, they're not picking sides, as many police depts will do the same for you or I. Regardless of intent, buying guns like this is lawful. Why should the police decide what's good sale and what's a bad one?

Right, so why the "put you in cuffs and run your info" for buying a gun at a "buyback" bull****?
There is intent and intimidation using the state going on there.

What this party really needs is an open carry platoon with plenty of video rolling. :):

Who said Crawford PD has or will harass buyers looking for a deal? All I see is, "probably not a good idea".

I don't do facefck so could someone post a pic of the churches posting they took down...

This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm only going if I can cash in 10 thermolds for $25ea.

If you had a small roll and offer some $ for something that catches your eye... Very tempting but I choose to heed CM's wisdom. I think I remember the other event where someone was butthurt.

I wonder who melts them down and what monitoring or certification they have. I cann't imagine that some where in the chain of possession between the church buy back and actual destruction that the real valuable guns don't disappear. Maybe, I need to create a website and list myself as a gun destruction specialist. Would be interesting to know how many guns they really get.

The articles said that Nucor would destroy everything (Nucor is a steel mill).

"Probably not a good idea" as mentioned several times upthread is based off a reality of what happened to an INGO member doing that exact thing.

It should never have been a problem in the first place, then or now, but it did happen. They have absolutely no business being involved or involving themselves.

It SHOULD GO something like this...

Church hosting "buyback": "We will buy your guns."

INGO guy: "I will buy you guns."

Church hosting "buyback": "help mr. police, he is buying our guns, stop him."

police: "He can buy them, its completely legal."
