Just saw a commercial (forget what it was for) that showed a woman that was born in 1920 during the quarantine for the Spanish Flu (allegedly). The message of the commercial was that "we can all get through this", yada, yada, yada.

But it suddenly occurred to me that my dad was born in 1917. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. He died in 1998. Chalk another one up to the Spanish Flu. (Using today's Covid standards) ;)

I recently met an old guy originally from Corunna, Indiana. He served in WWII and the Korean War and is the oldest veteran around here.

Sadly, there aren't many left. Local news just did a piece on the 100th birthday of a WWII vet (woman) that was a WAC. Neat lady and seemed to be sharp as a tack!

I think the dangers of mask wear are over stated. I can find a lot of studies on the dangers of wearing a tie too - also over stated. This may not be a scientific study but just look at the numbers for Hong Kong and the other Asian countries that wear masks a lot. Their death rates are much lower than ours in spite of their high population density. I'm glad I have the freedom to choose.

Do you also support the freedom of others to choose differently?

The youngest WWII vet who entered service legally has to Be about 92 or 93, so there’s not going to be a huge number left ‘rona or not.

Yes, they are getting rare. This guy's name is Ken Hoffmeyer and he was just honored and celebrated his 105th birthday, born in 1915. He served as an officer in the Army Air Corps and then the Air Force.

EYA - I'm not sure about the spelling of his name

Skipped the last 5 pages, mostly because I got some great news yesterday late in the evening.

My friend & shooting buddy who had been battling the Chinese flu was taken off the vent last weekend, and was released yesterday to a rehab facility in Louisville from Clark Memorial In Clarksville, IN

He suffered a mild stroke while sedated and on the vent, as of right now it looks like a very mild one. Rehab will take some time. he was on a vent for 40+ days. I've been extremely worried for him. He was there for me when I lost my Step Father, my mother and Father, and was a big reason for keeping me mentally uplifted when I lost my wife coming up on 3 years ago. Not to mention he was constantly pushing me to get me moving post mini stroke 2.5 years ago. Now it's my turn to be there for him, his wife and brother-in-law who is 65 and takes care of because he has down's.

This virus has touched all, some more than others and people need to realize that they are above ground, rather than pushing daisy's, (he had no prior health issues other than allergies before this). So we can't say this only affects people who have prior issues and elderly, he was 57 and fit.

Great news.....thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

I was an hydroxychloroquine fan for the simple fact that it opened the cell door for zinc. Zinc has worked for me when ever I got a cold. I am not sure if quinine is a zinc ionafore. I have decided to use quercetin for that task. I try and keep my dosage of zinc to between a pinch and a smidgen per day (about 50 mgs.). A zinc ionafore should help zinc into cells at a 10x rate. I am not a doctor!

I've been searching my international certificates of vaccination from the 70s and 80s. I read about the MMS vaccinated possibly having a foot up on Pooh's Breath. I can't find it in there but, I know that in 80 or 81 I was concerned that I had not had the mumps. I was 20 at the time and been made aware that mumps at that age could be bad. So, I got the vaccine. I wonder if it was the MMS vaccine.

The answer to that question largely depends on the severity of the situation. Coronavirus ain't no black plague, but if it was, my concern for anyone's freedom to "choose" would approach zero. Talking in public spaces, of course. No man is an island.

The only reason the Media is for the lock down is that Trump wants to open the country.

Watch for them to come out in favor of keeping churches closed.

NIH Remdesivir study released at 6pm est 5/23/2020

Read it for yourself. Mind the language and look at the numbers and error rate. Other than 4 day shorter hospital stays(11 vs 15) it had no other effect statistically speaking.
Fatality rates, complication rates, and improvement in condition tier where almost identical to placebo and are within margins of error.

Sadly it confirms other studies that it really does do almost nothing against covid-19.

The is the official NIH study that the media reported on 2 weeks ago as helping because of the 4 day shorter hospital stays. By any other measure it may as well be the placebo.

"On April 27, 2020, the data and safety monitoring board reviewed results. Although this review was originally planned as an interim analysis, because of the rapid pace of enrollment, the review occurred after completion of enrollment while follow-up was still ongoing. At the time of the data and safety monitoring board report, which was based on data cutoff date of April 22, 2020, a total of 482 recoveries (exceeding the estimated number of recoveries needed for the trial) and 81 deaths had been entered in the database.(after day 29)"

The only thing remdesivir ever had going for it was a bunch of politicians on the board and owning stock and taking donations. Actually that is quite a bit, too bad it is a nothing burger.
