Nothing keeps up with the 41. Even if it shoots better (I doubt it) The 41 is a work of art.I think you were just sand bagging so you wouldn’t put at the top of your want list or have another example of something a third of the cost thst keeps up with the sw41
I agree it’s a work of art but totally disagree on nothing keeping up with it. Especially for the price. I’ve shot two a decent amount and have had too many failures for me to ever drop a grand or so on one. I’m not a collector and not the keep up with the Jones type. If I wanted a show piece 22 it is most definitely going to be a 41.Nothing keeps up with the 41. Even if it shoots better (I doubt it) The 41 is a work of art.

I don’t hate them by any means, but do love to tease the OP about it because for what he does and most people do you can get same performance for half the price.
You won’t have to venture too far from metal and wood for a wonder 9. Sounds like you need a CZ lolI would agree that some can keep up.
My statement was in jest. I know mine has jammed up and is finicky about extracting some brands. Even after I replaced the extractor with a volquartsen extractor. But I get great pleasure from owning shooting and showing off....lol I'm one of the old blue steel and walnut old timers that have a hard time accepting change. Im just now thinking about one of those "wonder nines" .....LOL
ManFinally got back to my semi-auto pistols.
Trying to decide which is best between a Ruger Mark 2 Volquartsen (barrel & trigger) or a S/W 41 from the 80s.
Different days have different results since I'm the weak X factor.
All shooting on a cheap plastic rest.
I had fun dialing it in for 50' (16.7 yds.), a laughable distance but I was at Indy Bunker instead of Point Blank.
Ruger Mark 3 Volquartsen with a Nikon 2 x20 scope & the SW 41 with a Bushnell red dot (10 levels/sizes of dots & I use #1).

I know this is a old post but have you ever looked into MCFG? (Marion County fish and game). If thats the kind of shooting you like to do you would love it there. I used to do the indoor range but since I have been going there I hate indoor shooting. Just sayin....for the cost of 1hour every other month you can get a whole year of unlimited happiness. You will have to take or provide proof of a safety course but totaly worth it.
Anyhoo.......
70w from east side is open now.I have a lifetime membership.
Haven't been much since they started working on the expressway.
I hope to get back to MCFG this summer though.
from where I live in Wanamaker,70w from east side is open now.
I was wondering who picked that up so fast. Nice shootin’!Tested out a GSG Firefly that Zackcz picked up here & let me take to the range.
Felt good in the hand with metal & hammer & steel magazine.
Ammo tested:
- Federal Automatch 40 grain (FTFeed x1 & FTE x2 & FTL x2)
- Aguila SV (by mistake, thought it was the HV), 40 grain (FTL x3)
- CCI Mini-Mags 40 grain (FTFeed x1 rd)
- CCI SV 40 grain (no failures)
- Armscor 36 grain HP (no failures)
- CCI Blazer 38 grain (no failures)
- Federal Value Pack 36 grain HP (FTL x3 rds)
1 magazine each with 7 different brands of ammo on 3.75" circles at 21'.

2" circles at 21' with a different brand of ammo each row.

Last row w/CCI Mini-Mags counted incorrectly, should be: 7/15 = 47%

It was Zackcz who saw it early on in the day.I was wondering who picked that up so fast. Nice shootin’!
Me and First typically are not in the same sentence I was built for feed not for speedI was wondering who picked that up so fast. Nice shootin’!
Nice! My only 22lr pistol right now is a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite. I just picked it up a few months ago. First time I shot it, I didn’t realize the red dot loosened up. 2nd time, the pic rail loosened up I need to loctite the fasteners and take it out again. It was Zackcz who saw it early on in the day.
It didn't keep up with the 90% that I look for in order to keep a gun.
I do have a couple of guns (Bersa .22LR & the Beretta Bobcat), I enjoy even though they don't meet the 90% standard at 21'.
I even bring the targets up to 15' when I need to, haha!
Beretta Bobcat .22LR
I've had a dozen of these tip up barrels over the years in 3 calibers.

I never had red dots or scopes until the last few years, so I had to learn when accuracy drops off to be attentive to tightening everything up again & to use Loctite.Nice!
