2nd range visit with a "new" SW 22A-1 (pic below).

Used Aguila SE SV 1130 FPS, SLN again.

Row 1 was free hand at 21'.
I rarely bother with free hand anymore, so I was glad I didn't do worse.
Row 2 &3 on a rest at 21' with the expected 100% on 1.75" circles.
Row 4 at only 15' just for fun, trying to see if I could get a cloverleaf. :dunno:
    7.31.2024 Range Aguils SE SV 1130 FPS. SLN 100% @ 21ft. 90% @ free hand.jpg

I don't use these 7/8" circles with iron sights, but I wanted to use up this target.
Did OK, but I don't know why the POI was 1/2" - 1" to the right on the 3/8" circles at the bottom???
Strange, since I was using the same ammo & cleaned it after only 110 rds last range visit?
This was after 165 rds today, being the last 5 rds I put through it.

Got my TX22 out yesterday. Has a Romeo1 red dot and used Federal Automatch bulk ammo resting on a bag. Forgot how much fun this could be.

These targets are 3” with the inner yellow circle being 1” diameter. (Reshot cardboard)

Had a few rounds of Tenex Pistol that I used up, nice group of 5 with the one flyer.

Another few rounds with the 617 revolver and CCI std. vel. , an older lot I've had around for quite a while. Firing 6 shots at 25 yards. A couple of better groups this time , going to try some Mini Mags next time and some other brands of std. vel.

I paid $970 back in March 2024 at Brownells, $1077 out the door.
I did see them for $940 somewhere else, after I ordered mine.
Best I've seen this so far is this at Rural King.
Since you don't have to pay FFL fees, just a $12 transfer to a local R.K., it saves a tad more.

Round 3 with the scoped 617 from a rest at 25 yards. A few 6 shot groups with Eley Target and then a 12 shot with CCI Mini Mag. I have fired some good target scores with the Mini Mag before and had a feeling it would group fairly well. Wish I had a Ransom Rest to take my shakiness out of the equation . Will try some 50 yards tests before putting the Vortex Venom back on again for free handed shooting.

Fun day with 2 examples of my favorite brand of pistols:
    - Browning Buckmark NS Standard URX (upgraded), Sig red dot
    - Browning Buckmark Contour URX, Truglow red dot

    Ammo:
    - Aguila SE, 40 grain, 1255 FPS, SCN (rows 1 & 2)
    - CCI Blazer, 38 grain, 1235 FPS, SLN (rows 3 & 4)

    Scores (nearly identical)
    - 100, 100, 90 & 100 (78/80 rds) = BB NS Standard (row 1 & 2)
    - 95, 100, 90 & 100 (77/80 rds) = BB Contour (row 3 & 4)

    Another day of comparing:
    - Browning Buckmark NS Standard URX (upgraded) w/Sig red dot
    - Browning Buckmark Contour URX w/Truglow red dot

Trying to decide which Buckmark to keep: the Standard or the Contour.
Thinking of keeping both so I can have the Standard with the good red dot and the Contour using the iron sights just for fun.
I'm doing that with two KelTec CP33 pistols and two SW 22A-1 pistols that I enjoy.

Short story: both Buckmarks had identical scores of 95% (19/20) on the 1.75" red circles today using Aguila SE, HV, 1255 FPS, 40 grain, SCN.

On the 7/8" blue circles the BB Contour didn't do well b/c the Truglow red dot on it had too big a dot on the number #2 setting and the #1 dot was too small to see, even using the green color.

    Row 1 & 2 = Browning Buckmark NS Standard URX: 95% & 95%
    Row 3 & 4 = Browning Buckmark Contour URX: 95% & 95%

Put rounds through a Ruger Mark 4 I picked up last Fall.

1st row I did poorly, having to get used to the Mark 4 trigger after shooting
2 Buckmarks for 220 rds.
Also, I had to do a little bit of elevation & windage adjustments using the Aguila ammo.
I put my hands on a rest.
Groups would have been tighter if I'd have put the barrel on a rest, as well.

Great day of simplicity with shooting 3 pistols using iron sights.
    - Browning Buckmark Contour URX (took scope off since I have the BB NS Standard with an optic)
    - SW 2206 (early or mid '90s)
    - SW 22A-1 (2009-2014, I think)

Used Federal AutoMatch, 1200 FPS, 40 grain, SLN

Got to shoot 2 of Zackcz's Taurus pistols today:
    - Taurus Competition w/UUQ EagleC28 red dot
    - Taurus Toro Gen 2 (improved base model)
It's always fun to shoot a friend's guns.

Used Federal AutoMatch 40 grain, 1200 FPS, SLN.

    Taurus Toro Gen 2
Had only iron sights, but still disappointed at the inconsistency of POI.
POA was top of circle since it shoots low for me.
    Range 9.27.2024 21ft at 1.75in circles Fed ATMTCH.jpg

The red dot improves POI with the Competition model.
But, it doesn't consistently get 90% - 100% per row that keeps me interested.
