Man I love the looks of those. I bought the scandium/bob-tail/non-rail version and it's a work of art in my eyes.

I'm seriously considering getting one of those as well. But I doubt I will ever carry it, so I'm sure the money would be better spent elsewhere.
No, No, No, No.....................Scandium Bobtail needs to be carried! But I worn you the finish on the frame does not hold up to holster wear. Gives the gun character. Maybe someday I will post of Pic of mine as it looks now.
Not a recent picture but you can see the finish starting to wear off the trigger guard. This happened after only a couple hundred draws out of a holster. Also the slide cuts are great at collecting an icky mixture of gun lube, dust bunny and butt sweat.
Oh wow. I thought you meant you had one of these: Product: Model SW1911SC<br>E-Series? - Round Butt, Scandium Frame
Didn't realize you were all uppity and got a Performance Center 1911...
PC gun is only $100. There is nothing "Performance Center" about the new guns. For $100 you get fancy grips (which came off anyway), Briley Bushing (which I like), Lightning Cuts (no strong opinion). Other then that I still needed a short trigger. Honestly the gun is a touch over priced but it looks cool and carries nice.
What do you mean it is only $100? $100 more than the regular? This is the same gun right? Smith & Wesson SW1911 45 ACP Performance Center Pistol with 4.25-inch Barrel and Ports | Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore
Yes. The PC1911 is $130 higher MSRP then the E-series. Difference is slide cuts and barrel bushing. I paid $1395 for mine with an extra mag or two. E series street price should be around $1250 plus tax.
