...It's a complete and total fallacy that third party voters only take away votes from republicans.

Thats right. Third party voters take away from both dems and reps.

Thats why the divide and conquer works so well.

Everybody gets conviced (on both sides) to vote the strategy of keeping the other *evil* candidate out of office when really, they are both evil. So nobody (few) vote *for* thier favorite candidate, but rather against the other one.

This ensures evil will always be there, in office, progressively getting more and more evil by taking 2 steps foward and 1 step back.

edit; Either they take 1 step foward or 2, they never take any of it back.

Do you think the idiocy this country is enjoying is something that can be reigned in so that it ends with the country back on track to being anything but set up for failure? If you truly do believe it can, please enlighten me.

As I read your post, it appeared you thought the answer was for GW, TJ, et al to wage war on the citizens:

I'm guessing they'd either gather up some buddies for a colonial can of whoop ass

I don't think that will work. The last time, they fought off the KoE's oppression, not thes colonialists.

Yes, agree the idiocy is out of hand. But I reject any notion that the answer is for a forceful resolution.

While the citizens contribute greatly to the idiocy, they're not the only ones at fault. If for some reason you believe that politicians at all levels aren't and haven't been screwing the country for at least a decade or two, there really isn't too much reason to have a conversation with you.

You're cracking me up. As a rule, the people are getting exactly what they've voted for. Those politicians didn't just show up and assume those positions.

Sorry if I'm not worthy of additional conversation to you. I enjoy the debate.

We agree that the general population gets what they vote for but many of those elected officials try to screw us as often and as hard as possible. There have been plenty of politicians that get elected and forget about being principled because of lobbyists. I know you're not ignorant enough to believe that once elected, politicians are trying their best (not even talking left vs. right). Look at the budget, Patriot Act, and on and on. If you really want, you can look up the politicians that have voted to screw the general public and you can see if that is how they campaigned. Many voters try to trust the people they vote for and end up getting the shaft. As a rule, yes, the general public is filled with complete morons.

Oh, if only I'd voted for Johnson, none of this would have happened? :dunno:

Well, your plan about guarantees it. This is why I say this thread is indicative of why this country is doomed.

Trillion+ dollar deficits are just about as sure a thing with Romney as they are Obama.

Enjoy them. You're voting for them.

Doesn't matter what party he belonged to then. He still won, twice, in a clearly blue state. Who'd he steal votes from?

Do you honestly believe it doesn't matter? I am interpreting that to mean you believe he would have won as a third party ticket candidate against a pair of R and D establishment candidates. Am i misunderstanding you?

TJ was not an advocate of waging war on the citizens.... that was AL.

Hey, thanks for the comp..li.....men.......t, um. Wait...

In all seriousness, when I started this little debate, I really figured your first response was going to claim the "whoop ass" thing was a rhetorical device of some sort. I really thought that to be the case. Guess I was wrong.

    Have a good Sunday.

I will be supporting Romney. There are only 2 men who have any possibility of being president. One of them is a pure socialist who is on record saying he would like ot ban all firearms. The other one is not great but not terrible either. This is not a difficult choice.

You won't vote for the guy who wants to ban guns but you will vote for the guy that has banned guns once already?

Sadly, my inclination to vote for Romney is more about the other issues we are facing as a nation, and gun control isn't one of the major decisions for me when electing a president this go around. I wish it were as simple as picking ONE topic, and voting a person for each, but that's not how it works.

When I factor in all the issues, Romney comes out ahead for me.
