Because all of the ones who fit those parameters keep turning out to Romneys and McCains, Cheneys and Amashes - more interested in playing not to lose (their re-election) than in playing for any sort of win for patriotic Americans

Scott Walker was the Ron DeSantis of his day. What's he up to, now?
Oh yes, the great hope, Scott Walker. I remember being all excited about him, he was the the conservative that was going to ace the corporate media litmus tests and become our conservative president...

Impressive how you can whine about how the poll cannot possibly be unbiased, then trumpet the pro-Trump findings of the poll in the same post as some kinda "gotcha."
Do you not understand how that can be? I’ll splain it to you Lucy. The corporate media MO is to fudge these polls to the dems advantage. If there is good news for conservatives it means that the truth was so great for conservatives that was all they could hide and still report the story. The real story here is that this is a precursor to dumping bidet…

The primary goal as a conservative cast their votes is to vote for a more conservative politician than you voted for last election. At some point you reach the far right end of the scale.

    Three question quiz:

Nixon, good or bad for the country at the time?

Nixon, well adjusted adult or someone with insecurities and flaws?

Nixon, would we be better or worse off now if he had not been driven from office?

I say it often, but few listen

Perfection is the enemy of good enough
I'm far from looking for perfection. I know that is does not exist that's why I will always champion positive policy results over personal perfection. I think I have made that abundantly clear numerus times. I voted for Trump twice because of his policies.

Who do you recommend? Who else is out there that can withstand the arrows of the swamp? Who do you trust to not fall apart and become a RINO in office? Since humans are imperfect the new choice will also be shown to have “baggage”, how will that be different?

I think anyone that gets all upset over Trump’s personality has been manipulated by the propaganda machine. It is odd that so many say the same words that were perpetuated by the media propaganda machine.
Or, we pay attention to his conduct and have the ability to see a person for who he is. Do you think he’s actually a model of virtue, and that we’ve adopted a distaste for him because we secretly watch MSNBC? Why is it that when someone disagrees with you, it must be that they’ve been fooled? Have you considered that it could be you?

We’re all talking about holding our noses to vote for someone for the good of the country, despite his flaws. And you act as if he has no flaws, or that he’s sent by God himself, and that means we should ignore is bad character. Did God send us a porn star ****er? Is that it?

I voted for him because he was an *******. We needed an *******. We'd just gone through Obama bowing to and sucking every enemy **** he could. Trump put an end to that.
I think we didn’t need an *******. We just needed someone willing to stand up to the Democrats and the CoC knobbers. All that nonsense was Trump’s own undoing. That **** he pulled after he lost has paid dividends to the establishment.

If you speak the language of the corporate media, regurgitate their talking points you are propagating their propaganda. Simple as that…

So we have a sample size of one, because he's the only one who was able to so stand up in the last 40 years

So given that data point, your answer is to try something different with the fate of the republic hanging in the balance? Please, *****

Oh I'm not allowed to speak my mind now because you are afraid that others might be lurking and see it. Why don't you tell me where in my comment that I was wrong? That is unless you don't have the guts to admit that maybe I might be right for fear that others might see you.

Simple question. Am I right or am I wrong? or should I just expect a non committal response of "no comment"

    Wow.

You just keep trash talking Trump and you'll get what you are asking for. You will insult and embolden a lion share, if not all, of anyone who ever voted for him and they WILL do it again.

Talk about Trump with some respect, maybe bite your tounge a bit and swallow your pride to STFU with all the "it's up to him, he needs to behave," talk and maybe someone will listen to your better guy arguments?

It's a very fine line between insulting the president and insulting his die hard follower/voters, who believe that a non-politician business man is the only answer for our country.

But go ahead, keep it up. ;) I'm plenty happy to vote Trump in 2024. You can seal that deal and take the mystery away for us all by fanning the nevertrumper flames.

    Don't say I didn't warn you. :nono:

Maybe you should try reading some of my other posts where I repeatedly said that I have voted for Trump based on his policies and I highly encourage others to do so that can't seem to get past voting for him because they don't like his personality.

Oh and I'm telling you right now you need to step the **** off with the personal attack. Seriously.

Nothing personal, my friend. I'm just telling you what you are gonna end up with, as the result of your own behavior. I apologize, if you are somehow offended by that.

Lotta of "us" trashed our own for months on end, fueling the enemy and disillusioning those on our side. Then justified helping to lose it for us by "but I voted for the guy." Richard Murdock was another fine example of us eating our own in that same manner.

    "But, but, but...

    ...I voted for the guy."

Again, I apologize, if that's hard for you to hear.

Hegelian dialectic? I'm afraid your reading comprehension is not very good. Maybe you should go back and read that conversation.

But anyway, let's look at Mike's claim. He basically said that those of us who don't suck Trump's thing must have an aversion to sucking Trump's thing because we've been fooled by the media? Okay. Fine. Show me the Kraken. Show me what I've said that is objectively untrue, that I could only have gotten from corporate media.

Why does not sucking Trump's thing anger you? Calm down. It's just a discussion. The position of the people you seem to be angry with is that, yeah, Trump has a bad character. But, for the sake of the country, I voted for the pornstar ****er. I'd rather not have to vote for a porn star ****er. So if we could get one of those please, I'd be fine with that. But no. You either want me to believe Trump's NOT a porn star ****er, or stop caring. Well. I'm not. I get to prefer to have a better choice next time. I think what undid Trump will undo him again, because of his many character flaws.

And if I don't have the choice of the better person, I'll hold my nose again and vote for the porn star ****er, as reluctantly as I did the last two times. So is it that you want your cake and eat it too? You want me to like the porn star ****er and not just vote for him, but to orgasm when I pull the lever?

:nono: So opinions aren't allowed when you disagree with them?

Trash talk? Is Trump a god that no one may blaspheme? Why should I talk about Trump with respect? Has he earned a position of being above reproach? Has the porn star ****er earned my respect?

I liked several of his policies. Several I did not like. There is no perfect policy maker. But if you're incapable of discerning good from bad, you might think he is above reproach. Must continue to praise him.

I'm sorry. I'm not wired like that. Many things can be true at the same time. Trump can have a bad character. Trump can make some good policies. Trump can make some bad policies. And Trump may be the best choice available in November 2024. I hope there's a better choice. But if not, we do what we have to. That's all anyone's saying, but some of you don't seem to be capable of handling any criticism of Trump at all.
