I don't understand the purpose of this thread.
Are you trying to say that the High Point is a really ugly gun, or that it was poorly deisgned?
    Well yes, and no.
It is a really ugly gun.
It was designed to fill a market niche that requires el cheepo materials, and manufacturing.
That means blow-back operation, and that means big a$$ ugly slide.
    I'd say it's perfectly designed.

Any one think that you could make a glock out of the same crap they make the Hi point and still have left over material. Hi-points seem to have more plastic and metal than most similar firearms

Yes, I was merely pointing to the Hi-Point's poor aesthetics.

Here is what a Glock would look like if Hi-Point designed it.

Well, as a hi-point owner with a 7 (should be 8) round magazine, I've always told people when i run out of ammo i can always beat the perp to death.... the slide itself is a blunt force weapon!

I always just thought of them as cheap guns that people paid way too much for at Don's Guns I mean after all he doesnt wanna make any money he just loves selling guns. So I guess I never thought that they might actually shot a bullet I thought they were just ugly art pieces. Who knew

yeah...I did that as a dumb 18 year old...not sure what I paid for the carbine, I was just stoked I could buy it at 18. Walked out the door after firing off about 100 rds, opened the case to find a flyer from Hi-Point with their list of guns, showing the MSRP @ well below what I had just paid :dunno:

Lesson learned, that being said, the gun has always shot well
