    There's just something kind of "romantic" about the idea of a cross country train trip. I've never done it before, but I've always loved this song... and it kind of describes the scenery that mom's husband was talking about.

    Really wish there was a good gunsmith somewhat local that I could get involved with and learn from
    It is so hard to teach a craft like this to someone. It becomes a serious distraction with questions etc and leads to mistakes.
    I have tried to share knowledge in assembly on a performance engine and it was a challenge. It also depends on how much the students can absorb.
    many are self taught. Having daze mechanical skill sets. A knowledge of tight tolerance machine work and a crap load of tooling is a start.
