    Have ya ever herd of certifying a shooting range ----like some one says to you --this here shooting range has been certified?
    Yes.

    I have heard it in several different ways.

    most common is trap and skeet ranges. You certify the range just like you would certify a football or baseball field. The ATA, amateur trap-shooters Association, has a set of rule for the layout and design of a trap field. And, to have a registered shoot you have to be approved/certified by the ATA that your Fields/ranges comply with ATA rules.
    That is by far the most common.


    I know the NRA has a set of standards for a range and you can pay them to come out inspect the range to those standards. I don't know anywhere that has actually done that though. :dunno:
