now that I agree with. However I consider that to be a friend.. A buddy is someone to just hang out with, a drink now and then. Not someone I would ask to help me move or watch my son.
It's ok though, I do understand what you're saying and not meaning to give you a hard time.

yeah, I have slightly different meanings I guess. A Friend to me is someone that would drop everything and help if it was really needed and I'd do the same for them. I'd have a drink with an acquaintance if my schedule was free and I was in the area.

I was just trying to figure out what his definition was compared to mine. I have buddies/acquaintances and "friends". there is no differentiation between best friend or regular friend. I would drop everything and help them and would hope no expect the same from them.

I will trust everyone till they prove otherwise. I like to be more optimistic about people. I would loan a buddy money if they needed it, help them move if I am free, etc. Buddies get helped as my schedule allows. Friends get priority.
