Had seen that one then the price:ugh:. I was talking about the regular TRP version also. I for one would be in the market for that. There's enough railed guns out there.

Wonderful thread. Years ago I shot a S&W 1006 and loved it. Heavy and shot very tight groups.

In more recent times I have switched to Glocks and glad I did, I have not looked back other than the beautiful pictures of the Deltas and S&Ws in this thread.

I bought a G30 gen4 in .45acp and converted using a stormlake barrel and some minor filing on the extractor.

Shoots great with S&B 180 fmj at 1250 fps or so for target shooting. I also handload with Missouri lead bullets in 170 and 140 gr. Can really push them along.

I have lately been shooting with standard .45acp barrel because I got a G36 that came with 500 rounds of ammo and wanted to shoot it in the G30 because

frankly, the G36 is very snappy on recoil and tough on trigger fingers. So, I have almost retired my 10mm conversion barrel temporarily.

Next I got a G20sf that came with a glock barrel and KKM match stainless barrel 6 inch. This gun shoots very well, but rarely shoot it with the KKM barrel.

Both G30 converted to 10mm and the G20 I have added stronger recoil springs to keep brass from flying 20 feet.

Still have brand new box of Star brass 500 cases that I have never got around to loading yet because I have about

Holy crap! If you're getting 1250 ft/s with a 180gr projectile from a barrel that short, those are some of the hottest loads available.

Sorry, I have a Chrony but did not find a need to shoot my loads through it. I am using the box numbers since the G30 stormlake conversion barrel is 3.8" and these are FACTORY SIG ARMS velocity figures for their 180gr. fmj loads and

my G20 I have 6" barrel that will probably get the 1250. I generally shoot 5.6gr of titegroup with 140gr Missouri bullets lead for target rounds. I have tried hot

double tap rounds and found I had issues with glock bulges on too many of them and at $1+ each never thought they were better than I can load up.

Just wondering if any of you guys have shot the Sig P220 Hunter? I am seriously thinking about grabbing one but still on the fence just cause of the cost but really thinking about it.

    Thanks

I have not. In general I have a G20sf with a 6 inch KKM match barrel but the sights are not good enough and 10mm not as powerful as I like. So when I hunt with a

    handgun I use a .41 Rem. mag 210 gr JSP in my S&W 657 with a 6" with Leupold M8 2X scope or a Ruger Redhawk hunter .44 Rem. mag with 7 1/2" with

2X6 Simons. BTW, the .41 mag is much more pleasant to shoot and for me more accurate and effective. It would be nice to use a 10mm to hunt with, but I have

better choices even though they are revolvers.

I just bought my first 10mm a few days ago, a Rock Island 1911. Seen it on sale at Rural King for $379 and thought what the hell. It definitely won't be my only 10mm. I've only shot it a few times but like it so far. I think its a pretty decent inexpensive gun.

Stopped to pick up a gun at a LGS and they had a Kimber Custom Eclipse. Spent a few minutes fondling it and if it hadn't said Kimber, I would have bought it.

Good looking gun. Tight and smooth slide function. Really decent factory trigger.

Could have been a decent gun. They can make good guns. Sometimes. I know of an Eclipse Target II that was as reliable as 1911s get and cycled like a custom build.

Cabela’s has Herter’s 10mm ammo for $17.99 + free shipping. 180gr, 1164ft, sec. not anything like a spec load, but cheap plinking ammo.

IIRC, original Norma spec was 1300fps at 170gr, 1200fps at 200gr, so 180@1250fps isn't really outside the norm(a).

    See what I did there?

Also, since 10mm was intended as a better round for the 1911, those velocity specs would be for a 5" Gov't 1911.

Many guys are having no problems getting those numbers from a Glock with <5". No, the brass isn't looking great (it's a GLOCK, ruiner of all pistol brass).
