I'd take black over Ford baby blue just about any day. I think Ford switched off to black in most applications in the late '80s. There's not a spec of blue on my '91 302.

Chevy orange? I dig the jack-o-lantern look in a year appropriate chassis. An orange LS/LT in a modern vehicle? :nono:

Those are not the droids I was looking for. Ugliest engines out there right now.

    Boolite proof....pretty much.
Easy to make power with.....Pretty much.
After market servicing the platform....Pretty much.

    Ugly little turds.....Pretty much.

It's the coils on the valve covers that ruin them. Once those are relocated they're snazzie enough. I'm not a fan of this particular ant eater style intake, but...

In an appropriate chassis, this costume party isn't so horrible.

Pretty much any modern diesel is more deserving of the fugly award, IMHO:

What in the Optimus Prime is going on here? :puke:

    Talking about good looking engines......

This is at the AirZoo in Kalamazoo, MI. I spent a lot of time just staring at the engineering of this mother.

They have a cutaway of one too. Just plane (sic) awesome.

My 78 TA had the shaker on a ridiculous 403. What a complete waste of steel. Unless it was used as an anchor.

Hey... I didn't tell you to be Mr. "Johnny GM" Chebbimann. :stickpoke:

Trying to imagine what might not have sucked in 78 as showroom stock. Probably a Z car is the best you could do, excluding exotics and kits.

I bought that TA on a close out as no one wanted it.
Really an OK car but man it was not impressive.

We had a habit back in the day of buying Ponchos and swapping in BB chevy's as they set right in the car save for the water neck and battery being on the wrong side.
And if you were not in tune with the differences in how they sounded they were street beasts.
Well, I hurt the 403 less than 6 months in and after dealing with the warranty BS I pulled the repaired engine/trans and sold it to some wide eyed young man with big plans for his "G" body. .
Made some calls and secured a BB chevy and a T-400. Headers and little else besides a long weekend thrash and I drove it to work on Monday morning. No shaker yet but hey...:):

Did not make it to work when the wheel hop snapped the pinion off. :wow:

A 12 bolt from a Camaro bolts right in....:)
