Heck man all my friends are painting theirs black. Brother if its a chevy then its gonna be orange...
Those are not the droids I was looking for. Ugliest engines out there right now.I'd take black over Ford baby blue just about any day. I think Ford switched off to black in most applications in the late '80s. There's not a spec of blue on my '91 302.
Chevy orange? I dig the jack-o-lantern look in a year appropriate chassis. An orange LS/LT in a modern vehicle?

Boolite proof....pretty much.
Easy to make power with.....Pretty much.
After market servicing the platform....Pretty much.
Ugly little turds.....Pretty much.
Yup you can dress them up. I aam just deep in the old ways YodaIt's the coils on the valve covers that ruin them. Once those are relocated they're snazzie enough. I'm not a fan of this particular ant eater style intake, but...

In an appropriate chassis, this costume party isn't so horrible.

Damnit man thats a Radial.Talking about good looking engines......
This is at the AirZoo in Kalamazoo, MI. I spent a lot of time just staring at the engineering of this mother.
They have a cutaway of one too. Just plane (sic) awesome.
My 78 TA had the shaker on a ridiculous 403. What a complete waste of steel. Unless it was used as an anchor.Anything with a shaker gets an honorable mention...

I bought that TA on a close out as no one wanted it.Hey... I didn't tell you to be Mr. "Johnny GM" Chebbimann.
Trying to imagine what might not have sucked in 78 as showroom stock. Probably a Z car is the best you could do, excluding exotics and kits.
