Such a missed opportunity. The Libertarians coulda, shoulda, woulda...but like I thought about Trump for much of this season, it's almost like they never really wanted to win.

Giving up is the headline from Reason. Giving up is how libertarians are characterizing the Libertarian Party's attempt to elect Hillary.
No, it's how one author is characterizing Weld, which Weld probably deserves. But it's not exactly what he said.

I know you like to ridicule libertarians, and that's fine. Everyone needs hobbies.

I would think though that we should care about a couple of things:
the 2 party system is inappropriate, corrupt, and largely confined to the last few decades (or at least more increasingly exclusive during the last few decades). I would think that matters to all of us, ya know in the constitutional sense.

I have also noticed this year that the media habit of writing a headline that differs from the facts in the story is becoming more widespread and more mainstream. That bothers me.

No it is Reason magazine. You know Reason? The flagship of libertarianism. Heard of it before?

The organ of libertarianism isn't pure enough for ya or something?

So the flagship of libertarianism is saying Weld is saying something he really didn't say. That's like Solon saying Bernie Sanders said something he didn't say. Prolly not going well for Democrats if it ever came to that. Sorta lets us know the state of the LP.

The Week published the article; Reason did the headline.

Reason, the only true libertarians, this week, but who knows what &*%$#@ purity tests are coming later in this thread, thinks this of Weld.

I see Reason is reporting Penn Gillette voted Clinton, even one of the top Libertarians won't vote Libertarian...

Why don't I read Reason? I must not be libertarian enough. :):

    Nice try, again, Kirk.

Everytime I pull the curtain back and reveal the true nature of libertarianism/Libertarian Party someone comes along and says "no, not them, not pure enough."

It's like a running joke on INGO or something.

but who knows what &*%$#@ purity tests are coming later in this thread,

It's like I can see into the future.

I see Reason is reporting Penn Gillette voted Clinton, even one of the top Libertarians won't vote Libertarian...

Surely you do not believe the purpose of the Libertarian Party is to elect Libertarians? No one can believe that anymore.

The running joke is your constant attempts to conflate the two. That's not a curtain you're pulling back, it's the cover we put over your cage to calm you when you get worked up and noisy. :):

It's like I can see into the future.

I see into the past. Your ways are known and fairly constant. Try mixing your 'traps' up a bit, maybe you'll 'catch' us off guard.

Who knows? But you must admit, libertarians are pretty good at basic math. :yesway:

I saw that too, his reasoning being that he traded his swing state vote for 10 of his liberal friends votes in solid blue states. He said it was more important to get to 5% than to do well in a particular state.

His interview with Gillespie about the election was good.

If you all want a 2-party system, then keep behaving like it's normal for people to support their party at all costs, even when the "costs" are Sanders selling out or people getting behind a lying conman.

A dose of history might also be useful. This wasn't a 2-party nation so strictly until a few decades ago. I don't think that change is something to be proud of. I think it's why we have people going to the ballots with perceptibly bad choices.

So should we vote for the hard core socialist or the drug addled social justice warrior with his gun grabbing, Hillary supporting sidekick?

then keep behaving like it's normal for people to support their party at all costs,

    Libertarians can do this too.

Why else would any libertarian support pro forced inculation, pro TPP, pro Carbon taxes, anti gun, forced societal acceptance, open boarders Gary Johnson.
