WNBA Salary Comparison, as percentage of Revenue

    NBAWNBA
    lowest salary $ 543,000.00 $ 35,000.00
    highest salary $ 34,682,550.00 $ 107,000.00
    League Revenue $ 7,400,000,000.00 $ 8,400,000.00
    Percent rev. Low0.0073%0.4167%
    percent rev Hi0.4687%1.2738%

Women actually are paid SIGNIFICANTLY more then their male counterparts, as a percentage of what they bring in. On the low end, they take home approx. 57x more of the gross revenue. On the high end, almost 3x more then the men.

If the WNBA were to bring their revenue up to the same as men (sell more advertising, sell more tickets, sell more merchandise, etc...) the highest paid person would clear $94 MILLION / year, and a n00b to the league would still make over $30 MILLION.

Would be interesting to dig into the revenue and pay back when the NBA league revenue was $8.4M to see if the pay as pct of revenue was similar, or if it's closer to WNBA numbers.

I think someone stole it, but I defy anyone to she me where it was. Polishing compound or even a clay bar and wax....unless you live in the Mojave, in which case it it will be the only place not sand blasted.

I am definitely NOT going to "she" you anywhere.

    Some history:
    The History of NBA Labor
Average salaries the first year (1946/47) were $4-5000. That is $64,000 adjusted for inflation. So, a bit under today's average WNBA salary (71,000), and WAY under today's NBA salary average (17M).

The early NBA was really a part-time gig for a lot of players. Took several years before really taking off, and becoming a full-time profession.

California university works to reduce number of white people on campus

"...there is still much work to do" sounds ominous. Like your house is infested with ants or mice... and you haven't yet eradicated all of them.

In keeping with the diversity and inclusion movement sweeping campuses across the country, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo recently released a 30-page report outlining plans to “improve diversity” via a series of initiatives.

One goal is to increase the number of people of color on campus beyond the increases that have already occurred over the past few years, as “applications from underrepresented minority students doubled between 2008 and 2018.”

“In 2011, the campus was 63 percent Caucasian,” the May 2 report informs readers, “in fall of 2017, it was less than 55 percent … but there is still much work to do.”

Adam Carolla is convinced that his documentaries (which are, by all accounts quite good) do not get invited to festivals, Sundance in particular, because he is the film maker and he isn't the right kind of person and doesn't think correctly...according to them.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check those out. Adam should make a movie about gay cowboys eating pudding and see if Sundance rejects it.

It's fascinating to look at the trajectories of Adam and his once upon a time puerile partner Jimmy Kimmel.

I have respect for Adam. I always liked listening to him and Dr. Drew on Loveline years ago.
