Please tell me there's a box of snakes, a website from the late nineties, and an evil plan to force all women to wear long skirts.

Meh, an "alt-right Christian Fundamentalist" seems like a decent villain. Which wildlife refuge is he taking over?

It would be a spoiler alert to give further details than just to say it involves teh gays. Oh. And capitalism. Oops. I said a naughty word. Capitalism. Crap. There I go again.

Mark Kern (former Blizzard dev) talks about what seems like an uptick in puritanism in the gaming industry. Whereas you'd typically assume that came from the "Right", this one has major origins in the "Left"/SJW crowd... and too many companies are bowing to it.

    Mark Kern said:
There is a new wave of puritanism hitting games. Sony USA is dictating what Sony Japan's standards are for censorship. The US has a long history of moral panics (prohibition, anyone?). We're caught in another one. It will swing back once again, but its ridiculous now.

I do find it disturbing that the US is imposing their current moral panic on other countries and cultures and foreign game developers. The US being world police on morality is what I call "cultural oppression." Might as well go out and colonize again. From a business perspective, there is danger in giving in to the panic. Like all panics, its a form of mass hysteria. It's not real, and in fact buyers don't care, only the pundits and social media "reeee" crowd. My advice to game companies: don't cave. You will lose customers.

The ones actually buying your games don't care for censorship. Also, there is no "untapped mass market" out there that will magically buy more games if you somehow go "woke" enough. Ask Star Wars or Marvel comics. It doesn't work. On the contrary, standing up and pushing back against censorship has boosted sales every time I've seen a game company do it. Not just maintained, but raised sales and visibility that they otherwise might not have had.

So go for it. Show that navel.

A "far left" man in a custody dispute refuses to leave his kid's school.
Then tries to shoot the officers sent to escort him out.
    He is shot and killed.
Yup, he brought a gun to a gun free zone.

But guess what the left is protesting.
    They are protesting the police.

Listen to what he has to say about police at the 6:50 mark. If he feels this way about police, I wonder how he feels about citizens?

Tim Pool is by his own admission left of center, but he is a reasonable individual. I disagree with his opinions frequently, but he's not a knee-jerk socialist-statist Cultural Marxist. He's the kind of modern liberal to whom I can listen and consider his ideas, then either reject or accept them depending on how they fit my principles. He is to "the left" what most of us are to "the right."

    This.
    Totally this.

He get's knocked by the right and the left.
Especially the left. Because he doesn't "toe the line".
He is left, but anti-authoritarian, which can be the extremes on both sides.

I disagree with what he said about not all police need guns.
    Citizens can defend themselves.
    Police are also citizens.

    But, about the protestors...
They are defending the guy that took a gun into a school, and then started being violent.
THAT is who they are defending.

Then there was the counter protestors.
As the one lady said. Those protestors were people who DIDN'T HAVE KIDS IN THAT SCHOOL.
    She did.
    She supported the police.

Heck.. the body cam footage showed it was a COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED SHOOT.

And, I follow Tim on youtube, not because I agree with everything he says, but because I agree with some.
And he at least listens, and admits that he has been wrong before.

To many on the left, that is sacrilege.

Never admit to being wrong. Double down.

I'm a subscriber too. He makes me consider things from a very different perspective and it's interesting when we reach the same conclusions coming from opposite directions.

He's also usually meticulous about fact-checking and makes it clear when he offering his opinion vs. when he is reporting factual news content. It's . . . refreshing.
