I think I know the answer to that. I don't think feminists can admit that Islam more or less imposes dominance of women by men, depending which flavor of Islam. The alliance I think has more to do with the "enemy of my enemy" concept. They both oppose Western values, so they ally together.

It seems that the main complaint seems to be that the murals show Native Americans being submissive to the Europeans. Perhaps it would be better to have murals of them scalping settlers (and each other). Where's that meme with the choice of which button to push? Show the Natives as peaceful, welcoming people, or vicious savages... decisions, decisions...
