Or, more likely, that we, a society, need to drop the rhetoric (e.g. Death panels), and have a serious conversation about medicine.

For example, "is the current medical system focused too much on longevity at the detriment to quality of life?"
No. The current crony medical system is too focused on extracting money from patients. There isn’t anything that resembles a free market. Let’s try fixing that before we go talking about rationing healthcare.

It’s so delicious to see a conscienceless capitalist and a fraudulent communist fight over the smoldering ruins of the Woke Party, with neither of them being actual Democrats ! The party of the Klan and Jim Crow deserves the ignominious *** kicking that they have coming.

    He's said that he would.

But...so did Trump. So, there ya go.
I’m not worried about his tax returns. I’m more worried about his media empire.

Because the tax returns are more about finding opposition research opportunities, rather than revealing tax returns, I think it would be fine to present a tax return summary prepared by a third party accounting firm without conflicts of interest. Not enough detail to spin into bull****, but enough to know “enough” of the candidates’ financials.

OK, I'll play. You must be in favor of irradiating everybody who wants to get on a plane rather than profiling them based on known markers of suspicious behavior/intent. Even pre-check is based on profiling, so it is nazi behavior too

Ya, I ain’t too into TSA’s bull**** either. The standard is reasonable articulable suspicion, right? So if the only suspicion you can articulate is, “well, he’s got dark skin and he’s wearing a hoodie, and he’s in this high crime area, so uh, he must be up to no good,” THATS not a reasonable suspicion.

It’s a different thing if the cop sees the person acting like he’s committing a crime. And the only profiling the TSA does is profiling the l least likely to be a terrorist. Old grannies. Young children.

See. Now I think that one’s more descriptive of the state of reality. Some people getting salty with each other. MC stops by with the  so if I didn’t know better I’d think you’re thinking, hey, this gon be fun, like you’re here for the salt. But the :@ya: thing, makes it pretty clear what’s about to happen when the salt stays flowing.

[Do you really have no idea how pre-check works?]

If you want to see the show, you go through the metal detector

If you want into the club, you follow the dress code

If you want to fly on the plane, you get bathed in ionizing radiation, life is full of variations in reality relative to the libertarian wet dream

In this case, if you wanted to go to lower manhattan, you had to pass muster with the boys on the beat. Which bothers you more, profiling or that it was government doing it? Were Bloomberg and Bratton wrong about who was committing most of the crime?

Let's hit this from a different angle - How do you think it should be?

Is the current method ideal (to you), or are there better alternatives?

Just saw a piece on the Today Show about Bloomberg's preparation for the debate tonight. Apparently he's had one of his aids playing Bernie Sanders and using the "grumpy old men" Muppet characters to argue against. :n00b:

NBC - Democratic Candidates Debate Democratic hopefuls debate
PBS - NOVA the perplexing behavior of[STRIKE] cats[/STRIKE] Democrats

[The competing millimeter wave devices could look through all surface accoutrements of most any material but were stopped by skin and non-ionizing. There was no scientific reason to choose devices that add to your cumulative, lifetime radiation dose]
