How would you feel if there was a massive, nationwide effort to primary someone against Trump? Some milquetoast nobody that the Democrats crossed over to make the nominee instead of Trump?

    Still not a big deal?

All is fair in love and war. Why do you hate the right to vote?

How bout a ultra rich ole white guy who is basically attempting to buy the Democratic nomination ?
I thought The Democrats hated white rich people, blame them for all evil in the world and want to take their money away?

What about a “Democratic Socialist” who does not believe in capitalism and has always declared himself as a Independent. Who has now run as a Democrat presidential nominee twice even though he is not a Democrat?

This might be difficult/impossible for some but what if you remove the anti-Trump factor, (Hell, for some people that is why they breathe.) what would make you cast a positive vote for any of the dumocrap candidates?

I realize many votes will be anti-Trump, try to forget that. What is positive about any dumocrap candidate that would make them a good leader of the free world?

We would feel unsurprised. Evan McMullin 2.0. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Mitt did it, either - but his choice of Utah over Michigan or Massachusetts tells me he's all about the sure thing, not the hard fought battle and he knows the Club for We're Better Than That, My Conscience Requires It division just isn't that big

Exactly, what if dems decided to anoint a candidate and campaign to have their voters vote for a RINO in the republican primary so the general election had a great choice for dems and an ok choice for them as well, but not the candidate the association of republicans would have selected.

I have long been against independent voters voting in a primary except for any independent candidates. Often liberal states with independent voters that can vote in any party primary get an influence on who is in the race before many states get to vote. I also believe that some voters are independent just to vote in either primary they choose...

    Two questions:
    1) Is not primary voting zero sum? If you vote in the Republican primary in Indiana, can you vote in other primaries as well? If not, then while they're sttempting to cause chaos for Republicans, might they not lose control of their own nomination?

    2) If an independent voter has yet to decide on either party, shouldn't he/she/it be allowed to vote in the primary wherein the candidate they like most is running?

The Republicans already have their candidate, the incumbent who is doing great things for America, so it would have to be a dumocrap initiative and as we can see their choices of candidates is very lame. It would be quite a laughable attempt.

Well since their debate platform is more Dog and Pony show and not designed to give any useful information to make a decision I am not sure who.

Ideally I think someone who can't screw up our country's gains made the last few years.

As bad as Obama was he lacked the cunning experience and black heart of an entrenched politician. I shudder to think where our country would be if Hillary had beat him out and was sitting in the big boy chair. She is pure evil and would have used her power to take our country in dangerous directions.

I think John Ross (author of Unintended Consequences) wrote an article basically thanking Obama for saving us from eight years of Hillary with his 2008 election and helping make her even more un-electable for 2016. I would love to hear what she says about him behind closed doors.

    1) Yes it is. But when there is no viable alternative in one party or another there is little perceived risk of losing that control.

    2) A voter is either a member of a party or they are not. If they are neither, they should have no say on the nominee of any party. I am often frustrated that the candidates that I want are eliminated by voters that are not party supporters in states that have open primary voting or easy crossover voting. The party supporters should be able to elect their preferred candidate to run in the general election that all voters can then make a final decision from those candidates and any independent candidates.

Why should voters not a part of a party decide that parties nominee?
