Probably as easily as Trump can goose-step away from the fascist one.
It does seem like Trump is having a hard time shaking the “Nationalist/Fascist” moniker that he keeps getting pinned with.

Its yet to be seen if a potential Biden/Beto ticket would be able to distance themselves from a Socialist/Comunist ball and chain.

Yes she is, but if the polls are correct about where the fringes are, Biden is going to be seen by the most Democrats as the sanest candidate. And Sanders is seen as honest. So old and boring, but sane-ish.

    A. Hard-left duo vs Trump, slight chance they'd win.
    B. Moderate-left duo vs Trump, slightly higher chance to win.

I'd rather gamble with B, on the off-chance the hard-left candidates would win.

Beto O'Rourke on backing the Green New Deal:

"This is our final chance. The scientists are absolutely unanimous on this, that we have no more than 12 years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis."

He goes on: "Do you want to make it."

    They respond: "yes."

OK, new doom-date set, apparently... 2031.

It really is sad... using the idea of impending doom to influence votes. And it's effective.

Yeah... except that they said it was our last chance in 1989 and that the polar ice caps would be gone by 1992. These guys are like the nutcases standing on the corner with signs saying "The End Is Near!". Just about as credible too.

More democrats in primary = more blood in water.

More blood in water = more divided democratic party.

More divided democratic party = more damaged in general.

More damaged in general = President Trump 2020.

    'Nuff said.

    Regards,

    Doug

I guess nobody will care that the scientists are not "unanimous".

I guess nobody will care that the scientists are not "unanimous".

There's way more crazy than that going on here. Nobody cares that the IPCC is a politicized body with a transparency problem. Nobody cares that AOC and the rest of the bat**** crazies are using the IPCC report to claim that the world will end in 12 years. They're scaring the **** out of everyone with this, and the IPCC study never said such a thing. It just said that we have 12 years to keep the change under 1.5 degrees, notwithstanding the confidence of all climate scientists in that claim. But why isn't the IPCC correcting their overzealous interpretation? Seems like if your organization reported something, and someone's using it to promote a radical viewpoint, you'd want to set the record straight. Well, you'd want to if you were transparent and honest. The IPCC is full of ideologues. That gives them a reason to lie. Give me a reason to believe them.

Honestly, I don't think either really applies. Though Trump's comment about police, military, and bikers didn't help.

I'd have to see the context.
    If h's writing fiction?....

I mean, when someone writes a murder mystery, the author is not saying he wants to kill people.
