I've been looking at those, is there any advantage to a 457 over a 455?
Yes. Bolt throw on the 457 is enough to move me away from the 452/455 actions. Only one I still have is a 453 with the set trigger. I should get that one out. Bolt throw on the older, pre 457 actions is high enough that scope bells can be in the way if you like to mount them close to the bore axis. 60° throw on the 457 solves that. CZ actually listened to their customer base on that one.

A 453 just sold on GB for $1275 (it had nice wood grain).

    I have 452, 453, and 455's. Havn't looked for a 457 yet, but I've heard good things.

In addition to the bolt throw, my understanding is they reversed the safety direction so it's forward to fire, the opposite of the prior models, which many Americans thought was backwards.

So I have a 2016 Ford Focus and decided I should do some maintenance so I bought a new battery and went out to throw it in. There's a battery cover so I never really noticed anything before but I took the cover off and thought what is this sorcery, the battery is halfway in and inaccessible, how do you get it out lol? After a few youtube videos I learned you basically have to rip out the air filter assembly and disassemble the battery box, nothing is ever easy.

Evening all, just drove back home from Pittsburgh. Met 2 of my old college roommates for a long weekend of being up to no good in a town where nobody knows us. The buddy who was my best man just lost his wife to breast cancer. She was always the mega healthy one and went very quickly. Both very good people. He needed to get out of the house and drink a few beers and some scotch with old friends. Had planned a trip to Maine this past August with all the boys (there were 4 of us that shared a house at Purdue) and our wives but unfortunately her illness progressed too fast.

Great to see them, had a good but somber time.

BTW, Pittsburgh is a really lovely town to visit.
I need to get back to Pittsburgh. It's been a number of years since I was last there

1 week after we put CKW in her 2018 Acadia the battery took a :poop:
It was the original so no worries. Bought a new one and the SIL was installing it and we found all the main fuses and relays were mounted on top of the battery and had to be moved before the failed battery could be pulled out. Then re-installed. What a cluster ****.

I can totally relate. A couple winters my stepfathers car had a dead battery in the middle of a cold cold night. Must have been -20 (ok maybe it was 20 but still…)

I figured - it’s a battery - I’ll just change it where it sits. Stopped at a 24 hour WalMart bought one and proceeded to the location of the breakdown with a few tools.

Yea - well - I got it changed but it was not a pleasant experience.

You guys gotta hear this. I called 3 different parts stores looking for a silverado transfercase module with no luck. Last call was AZ and this was the commercial line. I told the guy that I had an 04 silverado and he asked ' who makes that" and he wasn't kidding.
I think I got a Dorman module for my 02 Sierra a few years back on Amazon. Price was good and 2 day delivery. Might be worth a look.
