Finally got back late Friday from Fort McCoy WI, it wasn't a bad 35 days. The first three weeks were pretty easy until the candidates showed up then it was a week of training and then testing week. They were there testing for the new Expert Soldier Badge, we had a mix of active army, reserve, and national guard. We started with 57 during training and day one of the combat PT test we lost four, then later in the day during day/night land navigation we lost another 15. Friday morning before the 12 mile road march we still had 16 left and 15 made the road march in time, youngest candidate that made it was a PFC, highest rank was a LTC.

He was younger for a LTC but probably one of the older ones yeah. He made the PT test just fine though, you run it in full gear, 1 mile run, stop do 30 pushups, then run 100m, chuck 16 40lb sand bags onto a truck, do a 25m double water can carry, 25m high crawl, and 25m three to five second rushes and then finish off with another 1 mile run in 30 minutes, it looked exhausting.

Looks easy. Over how many days do you get to accomplish those tasks? ;-)

Evening all. I'm not gonna say the size of my nachos plate is a reflection on my cholesterol level, but I'm not gonna say it's not either. Lol.

Tooled around with #1 for a bit modifying the hobo reel for upcoming trip. Taking a small pole to fish on the way in, and run bank/limb lines for cats once pitched. Doubled up the #36 line to make room for some high tension stuff Sparky donated. Same contents inside for panfish, additional items for cats. Not really into packing liver on this trip, will freeze some cheap cocktail shrimp the night before. Fit nicely on offset j-hooks.

Went out this evening for a bit and noticed the recently replaced (just earlier this month) windshield on the FJ is cracked up several inches from the corner (no impacts or anything). Guess I get to call the shop and test out the warranty... Ugh

This was enough of a PITA first time requiring 2 trips and luckily it was raining buckets on the second trip when they were done and I was able to go right back as it was leaking then.
