I like the VZ grips and run them on pretty much whatever I can, but you really have to be patient with them. Sales come around and you can get them for a reasonable price. The two pair I just ordered cost $56 each shipped. Not cheap, but not ridiculous either.

I would far rather have the sights than the grips . . you did good!

My P-01 is in as built condition.
My choices were finish the current AR project or give the gun to the Wizard.
The Wiz will eventually get the gun but the AR needed my attention.
