That you (selectively) concern yourself with words while largely ignoring actions is extremely curious. Bill Clinton was at the very least a womanizer and likely a rapist and pedophile yet you give him a pass. Both Clintons almost certainly committed fraud, used their positions to cut backroom deals for personal enrichment, and Hillary likely exposed potentially damaging national secrets, they still get passes. Obama flat out lied about Obama care repeatedly, weaponized the IRS, oversaw an administration that thought gun walking was a brilliant idea, propped up every dictator/terrorist he could find while attacking average citizens and generally doing his damnedest to make life worse for all Americans and he gets a pass. Biden, who has his own share of shady backroom deals, who only espouses the same tired, failed ideas as his predecessors, and who can't get in front of a microphone without exposing his stupidity, also gets a pass.

It almost seems you'd rather be lied to nicely while being screwed over than have someone working toward what you say you want with a blunt, crude manner. That kind of reasoning makes the comments concerning Trump's intelligence seem rather silly.

That is what happens in classic closed-minded TDS.

    Campaign fodder (emphasis in original):

    Donald J. Trump Campaign said:
This is absurd - Coastal Elites are turning their “nonpartisan” platforms into liberal soapboxes.

They’re simultaneously pushing BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALIST agendas while silencing conservative American Patriots.

What they’re doing isn’t right. In fact, it’s downright UN-AMERICAN. That’s why on July 11th, President Trump held the first ever Presidential Social Media Summit to meet with conservative social media influencers to discuss the ongoing CENSORSHIP crisis.

Partnered with the FAKE NEWS media, the tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination, and suppression by these so-called “open-minded communities,” is unparalleled.

Even with all of the suppression in 2016, President Trump still won, but it’s getting so much worse...

They have truly become an Enemy of the People, and now, President Trump wants YOUR input on this unprecedented suppression of conservatives on Social Media.
    ...
We can’t let them get away with this.... Remember, they’re not just trying to silence us, THEY’RE TRYING TO SILENCE YOU.

His comment was open to interpretation. One of those interpretations is racist. I am completely confident he did so by design.

This where this whole thing goes of the rails. I have never oppressed Kutnupe14. You'll have to take my word for it, but if I wasn't on INGO I wouldn't even know you exist. So when you treat me as if I was/am a willing conspirator in whatever discrimination you have or believe you have experienced in the past, there is no evidence to support it - other than I am white and a Trump supporter. To believe you can judge people by such superficial descriptors is exactly the type of prejudice you decry in people who judge all of a group by unsubstantiated generalizations about them, and simultaneously diminishes the favorability with which they in turn judge your complaints and your ideas

I would also suspect that Trump hasn't personally oppressed you, either; and similarly doesn't even know who you are (assuming he's not on INGO). Lacking any personal interactions with the man, claiming to know why he does things or that you know he is a racist is just total, climate-change level cringe. The 60s called ...

He's really trying to whip up the true believers, ain't he?

    Yeah.

The emphasis on the word "UN-AMERICAN" struck me as ironic. I wonder if he will call for a committee to investigate those activities, like socialist activities.

The '50s called and they want their rhetoric back.

    On the other extreme:

Biden: "There has never been a President in American history who has been so openly racist and divisive as this man."

    Well, that's just nonsense

Yeah, but those more racist, more openly divisive were Democrats. From the South.

Yes, the socialists are here with their same rhetoric. It was UN-AMERICAN then and it is UN-AMERICAN now.

You have to. Look, I'm all aboard deporting illegals, making other NATO members pay their fair share, punishing currency manipulators, capping legal immigration, and a number of other things the president supports. On paper, and if the president didn't have a mouth, and I though he were smarter, I'd probably be one of his staunchest defenders. I simply can't get past his mouth, his tweets, and his general character. He's a demagogue, stoking the difference between American cultural passions to garner support. I know better than to ignore such things.

You like many of the things he wants to accomplish, you just don't like the guy accomplishing them

    Got it!

    We're better than that

Where is it indicated that I gave any of the persons you mentioned a "pass?" What you want to believe, and what is true, might not be the same things. The problem that many of you Trumpers have, is that you think that any opposition to Trump means that they support all others who oppose him. I voted for Bush, over Clinton. I voted Libertarian over Obama. I opposed Obamacare. I thought Hilary was a despicable person. I think Joe Biden is a creeper, or at least alluded to such. You don't get to craft you own opinions about someone simply because they don't toe your specific political line... well, you can, but that doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. And yes, I think Donald Trump is a political simpleton, who is doing more guesswork, than actual coherent policy.

Wow! Perfect! If only we could get that Kut guy to read and comprehend :coffee:

Your comment doesn't not make any sense in relation to the message I was conveying. You should not take umbrage with my notions, unless you think it applies to you. :dunno:

That is an apt distillation of the sentiment behind "We're Better Than That®" and the attendant genteel losing it always entails

The only person in the world about whom you can say, unequivocally, that you know why they do something is yourself. And then only if you can admit the truth. All else is hubris and malicious carnival level supposed mind reading

    Exactly, that's why I said "I think."
Here, I'll give you an example of something you'd be more willing to accept. Remember when Obama talked about people "clinging" to there guns and Bibles? I immediately thought he was taking a distasteful swipe at rural conservative white people. That's at least what I "thought." There was no way to know, as that was not explicitly stated... but to people who were inclined to believe that, did so.

    What do you think?
