I don't know now, but one of my Uncles was in a Franklin Class Boomer (SSBN-655) in the 64's - 80? and he said they normally then didn't surface while on there patrols (75 days ) then.
I believe all of the Franklin Class, were scraped between 92 and 2002.
They go out, and stay down, hidden.

I mean…he’s not completely wrong. The tricky part is where that line is. ;)
Correct. I believe his sole one paragraph there wholeheartedly. I see too many people fret over silly ****. There is no “safe”. Safety is an illusion. Now that doesn’t mean you don’t take precautions.

Air increases in temperature when compressed. The air in the pressure vessel compressed to 1/375th its previous volume and increased in temperature to...a lot.

But, humans are mostly water, and water isn't compressible, so...? I honestly don't know. There's no precedent for this.
There's plenty of precedent for it. Check out a "fire piston". Basically everything combustible is going to flash. Clothes, skin, muscle etc.

Eh. This is pretty much how I'd anticipate dying if I won a hundred million in the lottery. Or a rocket explosion.

"Yo, you hear about Ark? He built a replica of an X15 in his garage and launched it off a 737 he bought from a scrapyard!"

    "Wow! How'd it go?"

    "Oh, disintegrated immediately. Obviously."
Come on, man, if you're gonna go out like that you oughta give the world killdozer 2.0
