just loaded some 110gr Vmax 300 blackout some .45 acp and .45 colt with some powder coated bullets and some #4 and 00 12 gauges. Pretty excited to try the 12 gauges since i am just getting into shotshell reloading. Also looking forward to the .45 colts since they seem to shoot great out of my rossi ranch hand.

    223 with surplus H335 and 55gr FMJs.

I’m on my last jug of powder. Any thoughts on buying more surplus or buying new? The dollar difference is about $70. I always start low and work up on charges with something new.

I bought most of my new surplus and pull down powder from Pat McDonald or Talon when they were in business, back when it was 4 to 6 bucks a pound, I still have 4-5 eight pounders of BLC2 that i load 223 with.

Look at Pats Tumblers or Jeff Bartletts site GI Brass and see what they have.

I have been pleased with CFE 223. I bought a lb to try and liked it. I then bought a 8 lb jug for $174 for Skyler Biddle at Freedom Reloads and Arms in Linden, not far from you.

plus Tracer M196 & M856. A double based ball powder which can be loaded using Hodgdon

I have several pounds of CFE 223 and I like it. I use it for hunting rounds.

The stuff I’m reloading now is for plinking so I’m trying to stick close to M193. The brass prep is so much work, I’ll save money where I can.

I’ve been looking at Jeff Bartlett’s site and that’s probably the way I’ll go.

Picked up a lb of shooters world match rifle powder at the gun show yesterday. Going to see what the results are v/s their tactical powder. Loading up 50 rounds each of 223(69gr hpbt) and 308(168gr hpbt). 10 rounds ×5 with different powder charges. Had real nice success with the tactical, so im hoping i can gain another .25moa with the match rifle powder. Unfortunately wont know any results for a bit with this weather we've been having.

I really like their powder so far, and at $20 per lb its hard to beat the price too. Meters real well too.

Now that I have some consistent .223 brass, I can start load development for my sorta-precise AR. (wolf gold brand new brass--already primed-- for < 13 cents each!). Sure as heck beats processing brass.

I think I'm going to run the 73gr ELDs because 77 SMKs are much more expensive. RL15 for now, maybe some 8208xbr in the future.

There's a midrange tactical match at Atterbury in March that will afford me my first chance to take my rifle to 600y, so I want to have some loads worked up by then.
