I'm picking up a 4046 on Saturday if I can get up in time. I have already put it in layaway so it's reserved. Been looking for a Gen 3 40 Caliber and finally found one in good shape.
The place has a 6946 (I think that's the model number) that looks Iike it was tied to a rope and dragged behind it,but they also have a Model 59 that looks brand new,but I feel was over priced at $700. Getting the 4046 for $400. Not the best price I feel but it's in decent shape and not found in town very often. My last purchase was a Sig P224 in 40 caliber which I carry sometimes but usually still carry my P229 most of the time. Depends on where I'm going.
I did find some extra magazines for the 4046 for $28 brand new factory 11 round ones. I'll grab 2 or 3 of them. I usually have 3 mags per gun.
$349 but it was in terrible shape. You can kind of see it in the picture I posted above$400 is not bad at all. Most decent ones on gb go for $25 more minus the ship and transfer fees. What was the price on the 6946 if you remember?

I edited the other picture of my gun I had and it shows the 6946. Has a lot of wear and probably shot to death.
That's encouraging to hear. My 224 is a beast to shoot but my 229 isn't to bad. I don't plan to carry it. Just a few range trips and boxed up unless I need it and maintenance on it every now and then since I have other 40s to shoot.Gander Outdoor had stacks of the 6946's right about the time they closed the Merryville store. Still remember walking into the place just before they closed and it looked like a ghost town, clearance signs everywhere and boxes clogging the aisles. Only time I ever went in there was to pick up a 6946 ordered off the website. Beautiful shape and $229 iirc. I think this latest lot of dogged out guns are LEO surps from Puerto Rico.
You're gonna like the 4046. One of the softest shooting .40s out there and the triggers are wonderful. Too heavy to want to carry one but they make spectacular house guns.
Yep definitely beat to heck.
shot a few rounds in the basement crawl space where I test everything...
Hol up...
I've been doing it with each gun I buy since ammo is in high demand and I just want to make sure everything works. Was surprised the 4046 was such a soft shooter compared to my P224. Really like it but won't carry it.It appears time for you to do your first crawlspace pop! C'mon everybody does it.
Im lucky I can go out my back door and fire some rounds if I want. After shooting my 4006 for the first time had the same experience with how little recoil there was.

Shooter grade 915 hit the classifieds, decent price for someone.
