Question? Hopefully some one can help me. I bought a 4006 with bobbed hammer and adjustable sights I know it is police trade in but trying to see if I can figure out who. It is not a CHP or a Parks and Rec one and not a TSW. It is marked in the same areas as my 6946 which is a Norfolk P.D. but this one is listed as "A40**" . The Norfolk is listed as "NPD17**" on Rh side receiver , then slide above it and then on the chamber part of the barrel . I was wondering if it was an Atlanta P.D but they seem to be not 4046 and no adjustable sights and from what I can see they are Marked "Atlanta Police Dept."
This one has no holster wear that I can see either. Any Help would be appreciative.

Well that 915 I thought would slip into my hands slipped away, but I did snag a very nice late 40's Marlin 81DL for my C&R collection. I love the older Marlin 22 bolts. Man only another 20 yrs and over half of the S&W 2nd gen series will be C&R

The Atlanta PD gun I bought about 10 years ago from a gun broker auction was a 4003, Atlanta went to the M&P after that one. Not sure what gun was before it though.

Call S&W, if you get one of the better CS people they will tell you the manufacturer date and what department it went to.

I have four third gens on my need list...going to have to rethink my budgets or wait for everyone to shift back to AR panic buying.

They have the tooling, with the popularity of guns like the 75 series CZ's, you would think they could add a couple semi-autos to the line. Maybe a scandium framed 39/59/4506/1006 series.

With the release of 380 EZ and the 9 mm 1911 3"; not sure SW is looking our direction.

I have many on my list as well. I would settle for ones in fair condition just to snag them up in case this country turns. I seen 3 to 5 3913 barrels on gb for 48 plus ship but it was under a 908 search so not sure if 908 barrels or actual 3913 barrels.

I prefer to get mags since I can use them down the road when they are worth double. I do have some parts and did have Allenm fit a 4506 barrel for my -1.

I'm bidding on a stripped 5906 frame that includes the mag release assembly. I may make a franken 5906 SSV. My high bid is $175 so $200 shipped. I would use my free transfer at my gun shop. I'm debating on looking for a beat up 6906 as I'm pretty sure if I recall that all the internal parts swap over to the 5906 and then sell the frame with mag release assembly to make up for some cash, or price out each piece individually and find a 6906 complete slide. I'm looking to keep it under 400. I would probably get the slide and frame bead blasted back to almost new condition.

Oh boy just found a beat up 6904 for 199 plus 15 ship. So now my build would top at 425 worse case scenario. If I could get 100 for the frame back to 325.
