So...After watching two videos by this all-knowing master of the gun I have came to the following conclusions:
1. Producton 1911's suck.
2. Wilson Combat makes the only reliably functioning and accurate 1911.
3. Those pimp-ass affliction/tribal print t-shirts do not breathe very well or are very itchy.
no, i'm not. i am well aware of Wilson Combat and his work, which is TOP NOTCH.
My point is that I dont believe 1911s requires "artisans and craftsmen" to run reliably. Not all 1911s are created equal. But I don't think you have to spend $2500+ to get a good one either.
That's the same stuff I hear ALL THE TIME about the golden age Gibson Les Pauls. They weren't built by luthiers or craftsmen; they were built by assembly line workers. And many of them were/are fantastic instruments.
I would love to have one of those 59 bursts, but alas that will never happen.
I guess Im stuck with my 2009 58 RI Les Paul and soon I hope a lowly
Colt 1911.

I see your video and raise you with the 1000 rnd 1911 torture test!

I believe they are testing a para usa PXT 1911 ssp. A 775ish 1911.
Here is the article from para about it. Apparently the day before they ran 1000 rounds through it as a "warm up" before the speed test. After McCormick completed his 1000 rounds they had the loaders fire another 4000 rounds through it without cleaning.

You mean a quality made, tuned 1911 in the hands of a capable user is a potent weapon capable of running thousands of rounds flawlessly?
Comparing a 1911 to a G19 is like comparing an AR15 to an AK47. At some point, any reasonable person acknowledges that both weapon systems have certain advantages over the other - and which weapon is "better" comes down to personal preference and intended use.

You, sir, are crazy because you don't possess the level of knowledge that I have. In your video, they did not bury the 1911 in dirt! How can it be a real test without dirt?! In the real world guns get dirty and it's dirt that dirties the gun and gets it dirty!
It's obvious that you and your buddies on this site are emotionally tied to your crappy 1911's, so there is no arguing with you. You continue to post your videos of other uneducated jokers, who know nothing about the world of firearms, and I will continue to relay facts that will SAVE LIVES! He's who? I've never heard of him. Well, anyway, still, like I was saying, some 1911's are reliable and some are not, so that's just how it is! But, in the hands of an operator, any gun can be like a surgeons scalpel that cuts the life out of anyone who opposes my greatness... I mean comes up against me. Still, all 1911's are crap, but you can find a good one here and there, but mostly there, because I don't allow them over here.

Not sure how this was intended. No purple. HHHhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Do you REALLY need purple? Okay, I will edit the post to include purple. I thought it was implied since the OP used my name.
After who completed his 1,000 rounds? Where was Chip McCormick hiding during all that? All I saw was Todd. After McCormick completed his 1000 rounds...
