...But that's not what was untruthful about the meme (remember, it's the humorous underlying truth that makes a meme funny).

What was untruthful about the meme wasn't the identity. It's that the meme assumes a rich guy surrounded by gold, living the life of a billionaire, can't possibly identify with common people. Yet he does. The video proves that...

Well, there's that. Honestly, I was thinking of the worn-out anti Trumper claim that everyone who voted for Trump is a blue-collar idiot. Couple of problems with that. The left wants to equate blue-collar with dumb...get that? Who claims to be the champion of the little guy, yet look who they blame and what they think of the constituency they claim to speak for. Blue-collar does not equal dumb no matter what the elite leftists think. Second, Trump was elected by more than just blue-collar types. How do I know? Well...I know who I voted for and I know plenty of business owners and white collar types.

The left had better re-think its derision of hard working people of any collar type.

    Very well said.

One could add - The left had better re-think.

How can you do something again that you've never done before.

Connive, collude, scheme, conspire, intrigue, plot, cunning, devious, calculating, Machiavellian, disingenuous, deceit, underhanded, manipulative, wiley, sly, tricky(dirty), guile and treachery are some words to describe what goes on in their minds.

The less educated thing is overstated. Hillary won among college educated people 55 - 45%. The way they say it, they're implying that Trump voters are uneducated, yet he won almost half of the college educated vote. There are many reasons why it may be that there's a 10 point spread between educated Hillary and Trump voters, which has nothing to do with the intelligence of voters, which is what they're trying to imply.

Derision of everyone who voted for Trump isn't going to turn many people towards Democrats. That's just not a winning strategy. But they can't help themselves. Ideologues can't help themselves. It hurts their conscience to think that people can have valid reasons for voting not the same way.

This is spot on; don't tell me why I am supposed to hate my guy, who I already support. Instead, convince me that your guy is better. Negativity, when it works, provides only short-term gains.

I don't know anyone that thinks it was just blue collar idiots that voted for Trump.

But they do not have a better person. The only cards they have are negativity cards so they just keep playing them over and over and over, ad nauseam.
