I went to Kroger and got a 24 oz. can of Honey Brown beer to cook the brats in tomorrow before I grill them. I've got eggs boiling now to make hardboiled eggs to go with them.

I've never tried the boiling in beer first, What exactly does it add?
Adds flavor I guess. This is my first time trying it. I never could eat brats because they just didn't agree with me. I decided to throw caution to the wind and try them. Going to have sauteed orange pepper and sweet onion to put on them too.

We've been getting the beer brats, so I wonder if there's any difference?
They do seem a little greasy, or maybe just juicy, and I was worried about problems, but they haven't caused issue.

I have a buddy that cooks chicken legs in beer. Then finishes them on the grill.

Not really my thing, I would rather just drink a good beer.
Howdy Jay. I could've used one of my Blue Moons, but I didn't really want the citrus flavor for the brats. Hopefully the boiling renders out some of the grease. That's what would usually get to me.
