Back home yesterday after a visitation, funeral, and some adventures with in-laws in IA.

Illinois Railway Museum to do the Thomas the Train thing with the family.

Shaw's Crab Shack for lunch. So full.

    Beer with the neighbors.

Golf tomorrow with the wife in MI while the kid is at camp.

Time for a shower and relax.

Never had a problem getting my stuff nice and smokey on my Traeger using a variety of different pellet brands.

My only guess is using some off brand pellet grill from Menard's or temperature too high.

Depends how into trains you are. This event had train rides, open cars to walk through, sheds with engines and cars nose to tail. Some you could walk through with displays and yesteryear. Various companies represented. If I was in the area and a train guy I'd stop. Don't care about non moving trains from the area and hours away, I'd not go. Kid enjoyed it, but there were other booths, tents, rides, etc going on.

Sharing some pics to help you with your decision.

There is also an old west town close by.

Thank you, that’s really cool. Idk that I’d make a trek JUST for that but it’s not terribly far either. We’ll try to check it out the next time we’re near is nothing else.

I passed through that area a couple weeks ago and saw the signs for it. I'm into old railroad stuff and seeing your pics convinced me to plan on stopping there some time. Thanks for sharing.
