Lit up my room through the closed drapes and and instant "crack!" that made me jump.

ps. If you scratch up some of that Back 40 field of your yard and plant something the turkey like, you'll see more of them. I do this down south on about 3 acres in different spots, and we get more turkey, quail and deer.

If they arrive before the deer do, they can help themselves to the corn pan. One of the kid's chores is to feed the fish and deer.

On a side note, I want the contract to sell bagged shelled corn to Menards. $10.59!? Glad I can grab a tubfull from the corn crib or 2 at Dad's.

UPDATE on Dasha's family ... Mom & Aunt remain in Ukraine for now.

Grandpa & Grandma, plus Dasha's 2 sisters and her cousin all made it to Bulgaria and are all safe.

There is a protest against the war in Chicago on Sunday. Won't do any good. But people will feel like they did something. Dasha will be there. https://www.protestchicago.com

Yes. Protesting either Russia, or the Ukraine, while in the US, seems pretty fruitless to me.
