And they just took my trainee out in the ambulance.
He says he just tripped hit his head.
Others said he had a seizure.
Looks like a seizure.
He's going to be out awhile.
This week we'll cover the shift with overtime. So much for the "No Overtime" they said was ironclad.
Now they're trying to figure out how to cover the shift next week.
Higher management still thinks the Motor Inspectors can do the job, and don't undertake the problem.
The problem being, no one did any of the training.. because everyone was already on overtime. And the boss wasn't going to generate more.
The younger guys that went through the new craft training probably are the closest. They had a LOT of training in their craft. And a couple weeks in my craft.
A couple weeks. Hah.
When I hired, it took a 2 year degree, OR 5 years experience in the craft of Instrumentation.
That was just to get your foot in the door as a C Rate Electronics Tech.
Then a test for B Rate.
Then a test for A rate.
Then a test for Systems Repair.
A few classes on the way.
And a lot of experience.
Now, that new class must be something, since a few weeks replaced all that.
Anyway, the new guy "in his 60s" is awaiting test results, and doctors advice.
Which will take awhile.
